Johnny Depp Has Been Barred From Appearing In Pirates Of The Caribbean Sequel

What about a cameo?

Disney has issued an agreement barring actor Johnny Depp from being cast as the lead role in the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

Johnny Depp, 57 was set to appear for the role of Jack Sparrow for the sixth installment of Disney’s Pirates of the Carribean movie. However following the loss of the actor’s lawsuit against a British Tabloid that termed him as a “wife beater”, Depp was barred from appearing in the movie altogether by Disney.

And not just this the actor was in fact removed from his lead role in the Crimes of Grindelwald movie from the Fantastic Beasts franchise. He was still paid $16 million for a week’s worth of work for the film.

Since Johnny Depp was removed from the new Pirates of the Carribean movie, Disney has issued a reboot of the series featuring Margot Robbie.

The actor was recently in the spotlight for his ongoing dispute with ex-wife, actress Amber Heard over domestic violence allegations. Heard and Depp had been accusing each other on the grounds of abuse and domestic violence.

Will Johnny Depp Come back for a cameo in Pirates of The Caribbean?

According to The Hollywood Reporter Disney “balked” at the idea of executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer to bring Johnny Depp back for a cameo in the female fronted spin-off of the Pirates of the Carribean franchise. The report has claimed that bringing back Depp in either the lead role or the cameo role would tarnish the reputation of the film as being “family friendly”

However, Depp’s fans are already on the way to bring back their beloved star for the movie by signing a petition. It has already received nearly 350,000 signatures.

Depp’s Sun lawsuit brought into forefront a number of details about his dispute and relationship with Heard, claiming that the 57 year old actor had “physically and verbally abused her”. Disney had cut ties with Depp before any verdict was passed.

Depp had previously blamed Heard for causing his finger injury and alleging that she abused him physically. He had even tried to get her removed from the new Aquaman movie. Depp’s fans claimed that she “systematically crusaded” to ruin his career and signed the petition to get Heard removed from the movie.

The backlash from Disney happened after Depp lost his libel case against The Sun Publisher News Group Newspaper executive editor Dan Wootton after he called him a “wife beater” in a 2018 article.

This backlash has subsequently caused a huge loss to Johnny Depp’s career.
