Justin Bieber rewound the time seven years back to his DUI arrest, in 2014, which put the popstar on the right track and changed his life for good.
Justin Bieber took to his Instagram to share a pic of his DUI arrest, which happened in 2014 when the Monster singer was just 20-years-old and was not married to Hailey Bieber. He posted the image along with a message, where Justin introspected on the mistakes that he made as a reckless celebrity. He began the message by stating that “7 years ago today I was arrested, not my finest hour. Not proud of where I was at in my life. I was hurting, unhappy, confused, angry, mislead, misunderstood and angry at god..” While the message started off as a bit serious, Justin did make fun of his poor choice of wearing leather shorts in the photo as he was arrested in Miami which is known for its hot and humid weather. “I also wore too much leather for someone in Miami.”
Justin Bieber continued his message by acknowledging the importance of his faith in God, that helped him overcome the dark times. “All this to say God has brought me a long way. From then till now I do realize something.. God was as close to me then as he is right now.” He then concluded the message with a piece of advice to his fans that “My encouragement to you is to ‘let your past be a reminder of how far god has brought you. Don’t allow shame to ruin your “today” let the forgiveness of Jesus take over and watch your life blossom into all that God has designed you to be. LOVE YOU GUYS WITH MY WHOLE HEART.”
