Kaia Gerber Makes Red Carpet Debut With Boyfriend Austin Butler After Jacob Elordi Split

“All of her friends think he’s really cute.”

Kaia Gerber and her boyfriend Austin Butler have hit the red carpet together for the first time. Gerber, 20, and Butler, 30, made their red carpet debut as a pair on Thursday at W Magazine’s annual Best Performances party in Los Angeles.

The couple stepped out publicly for the first time, holding hands, three months after first being linked, and just one month after Kaia’s split from ‘Euphoria‘ star Jacob Elordi, 24.

For the occasion, Gerber donned a sparkly two-piece ensemble featuring a gold crop top with fringe and silver straps, and a green-red knee-length high-rise skirt that fades from green to red from top to bottom. Meanwhile, Kaia Gerber’s boyfriend wore a simple black suit.

Kaia Gerber and Jacob Eloridi‘s split was reportedly amicable. While Gerber moved on with Austin Butler, Jacob has since moved on himself with model Bianca Finch, 24. Austin previously dated Vanessa Hudgens, from whom he split back in 2020 after they spent nearly nine years together.

Kaia Gerber first sparked romance rumors with Austin Butler after the duo was spotted cuddling up in December 2021, just a month after her split from Jacob.

Although things are still relatively new for the young Hollywood couple, friends of the couple have shared that things are going swimmingly. “She seems really happy,” one shared. “All of her friends think he’s really cute.” Gerber also revealed what she wants from a relationship, including the key qualities she looks for in a person, while discussing her relationship with Elordi in the cover story for Vogue‘s June/July 2021 issue.

“Being able to be with someone I trust, where we don’t want anything from each other, having a safe, steady relationship like that, has really opened my eyes to the possibilities of love and what it feels like to love without conditions,” Gerber told Vogue at the time. The model added, “Lust is touching other people or wanting them, but love is really seeing someone.”

At the L.A. Art Show Opening Night Gala benefitting St. Jude Hospital in January, Gerber told PEOPLE that the COVID-19 pandemic “made me re-evaluate my personal life a lot more.” That same day, Gerber and Butler were spotted strolling around L.A. after going out together to grab groceries.

“I think, it’s so important people are realizing how important their happiness is outside of work, when you don’t have all these outside resources to gain happiness from, where that internal happiness comes from,” she said.
