Ella Emhoff looks at the runway debut at New York Fashion Week
Ella Emhoff’s debut at the New York Fashion week consisted of three looks from the fall/winter 2021 collection. The outfits were designed by New York-based designer pair – Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. Ella appeared second in the lineup along with Lineisy Montero and late Paul Walker’s daughter, Meadow Walker.
The 21-year-old’s looks consisted of light grey melange virgin wool slashed waist pants, a black pipe bag, and butter Rondo shearling slipper.
The second outfit was a yellow printed turtle neck top inside a navy leather trench coat with a belted waist. Ella Emhoff carried her glasses and short curly hair throughout the changes making her gorgeous face look more defined.
Ella Emhoff walked the New York Fashion week in her third outfit which was a one-buttoned black blazer and matching waist pants. She carried the blazer as her upperwear and looked quite fashion-forward in the powersuit.
Ella Emhoff at Presidential Inauguration Ceremony
Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter is currently a student at Parsons School of Design. She became an overnight star at the Presidential Inauguration ceremony last month, where the youngster looked super fashionable in her Miu Miu tartan coat, which had a pilgrim collar and crystal embellishments on the shoulder. She completed her look with a black face mask and gloves along with a small back purse in hand.
Later that week, The New York Times reported that Emhoff had signed with the IMG models. Talking about her modeling career she said, “I was pretty surprised when everything with IMG was happening because when I was younger, I never saw that as being part of my timeline. As someone who, like a lot of young girls out there, had self-confidence issues, it is intimidating and scary to go into this world that is hyper-focused on you and the body.”
The theme of Proenza Schouler’s collection is “comfort, inspire, and empower the modern-day woman” as stated by the brand. The campaign video was shot in the Parrish Art Museum in New York where they transformed the museum corridors into a makeshift runway.
While talking with NYFW at Spring Studios in London, Ella Emhoff talked about her runway debut at New York Fashion Week and said, “I definitely lost a little sleep the night before, I mean I’m walking for the first time, I’m in a professional environment for the first time… It was a very epic first experience with the fashion world.”
“For a really long time when i was younger I wanted to be a designer,” she said. “Then I took it a little more seriously, I started taking courses at Central Saint Martins over two summers…It definitely exposed me to the intensity of design school.”
“I want to see guys, girls, people, everyone wearing striped colorful pants or my dresses. I think that’d be great.”
