Karen Gillan success mantra is self belief and perseverance

Karen Gillan revealed some of her secrets about stage fright and how she came over it. She also told that one needs to be persistent enough to succeed and have strong self-belief.

“I had a lot of belief in myself from the beginning because I had such bad stage fright when I was younger. I would get up and quiver and not be able to perform in front of people at all. I would just go to bits and so I had to really believe in myself.”

“It just took extra belief in myself to believe I could overcome the hurdles of being terrified of doing the thing I wanted to do, so that’s my advice if you’re thinking about it, just self belief and perseverance.”

Talking about failures, she briefed the fans that failing isn’t bad, but one needs to learn and grow from it. You need to understand the lesson and move towards your path.

She said, “Failing isn’t necessarily a bad thing, what matters is how you react to the failure. So if you keep going and don’t let that get in your way, then actually it can be useful because you can learn from that. But you’ve just got to keep going. Persistence, persistence.”

Karen Gillan has been quarantined in Australia for the next 14 days as per the Covid-19 guidelines. The actor is visiting the continent to shoot for her next movie Thor: Love and Thunder. Co-stars Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista have also landed in Sydney for the Marvel Movie.

Karen Gillan Homesickness and Inspiration

Interacting with her fans, she also expressed that she misses her hometown and always tries to move back, but due to her work, it isn’t very plausible. She also talked about her Scottish accent from back home and how it changes while playing a character.

“I miss my hometown every single day. I am constantly trying to figure out ways I can move back but it doesn’t seem very plausible. So I’ll just keep dreaming about it. It’s so good there.”

She further added, “This is the bane of my life because when I’m pretending to be American while I’m doing the job I will stay in the accent a little bit. But then it dilutes the Scottish and everybody is like ‘you’re losing your accent’ and I’m like ‘I’m sorry, I don’t mean to, it’s just I’m trying to do my job.'”

Also That ’70s show. I loved an American comedy and I liked That’ 70s show because there was a ginger person in it, Laura Prepon.”

Karen Gillan’s Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 won’t be released until 2023, but Marvel has quite a busy lineup of movies in 2021, according to their Phase 4 schedule.
