The singer-songwriter and glowing mother-to-be Katy Perry, 35, just made our lockdown-induced bored lifestyle a lot better with a very great news- she and Orlando Bloom, 43, are going to be parents to a baby girl! She posted the happy news with, what appears to be a rather messed-up, covered in frosting, yet practically beaming Orlando!
With a delivery date set for this summer, Katy Perry has been taking every necessary precaution and had been one of the first celebs to cancel their events amidst the initial stages of the coronavirus pandemic. She has been home in the US and observing social distancing with fiance Orlando Bloom, who also returned from Europe last month after production on his show Carnival Row was suspended.
Katy Perry had shared the blessed news of her pregnancy last month… with a song!
The 13-time Grammy nominee had made the major reveal in the music video for her song “Never Worn White” at the end of which viewers saw her cradling her baby bump.
“I am excited. We’re excited and happy and it’s probably the longest secret I’ve ever had to keep,” Katy Perry said during an Instagram Live video last month. “And I like to tell you guys everything but I knew I would tell you in the best way, which is through a piece of music because that’s… I guess that’s how I speak to you. That’s how we speak together to each other.”
And now the happy couple has announced that they will be welcoming a baby girl this summer
Katy Perry has posted a picture of Orlando Bloom on Instagram who has a goofy yet OMG-I-am-so-happy-smile on his face along with a LOT of pink frosting, hinting at a messy and definitely fun gender reveal party the couple must have thrown to reveal the auspicious news.
Katy Perry simply captioned the adorable picture with “💕 it’s a girl 💕” and geotagged the photo “Girls Run The World.”
And apart from welcoming Katy Perry’s daughter soon, the chances of a 2020 wedding are now on hold
While the couple had earlier shared that they have no plans to rush down the aisle, the rumor was that the Katy Perry and Orlando were planning for an early summer wedding Japan this year. But like everyone else, they soon-to-be-parents are “hitting pause because of coronavirus.”
