Katy Perry And Orlando Bloom Share A Sweet Moment At The Variety Power Of Women Event

They are one adorable couple!

Katy Perry was honoured at Variety’s Power of Women event in Beverly Hills last night, and she was accompanied by her fiancé Orlando Bloom. As they posed on the red carpet, Bloom made it clear that he adores her; they had a moment where they just stared at one another, which photographers captured on camera.

Orlando Bloom wore a black suit with no tie, while Katy Perry chose a lilac Schiaparelli gown.

Angelina Jolie and her 16-year-old daughter, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, were photographed chatting with the couple during the festivities. At one occasion, Jolie was caught hugging Perry, implying that the two are friends.

Katy Perry praised Orlando Bloom on stage, calling him her “beloved partner and constant iron sharpener,” as reported by E!

“A man that is a friend and an ally to women all around the world,” she added of Bloom. “Thank you for handling the insanity of my life with such loving grace. And biggest thank you of all for being an incredible father and example to our greatest gift ever, our daughter Daisy Dove.”

She then made a vow to Daisy, her and Bloom’s now one-year-old daughter. Perry said, “To my Daisy, a future powerful woman. I pledge to you to do my best to be an example of one, to never put limits on your dreams, to lead with love never through fear and to always be your lighthouse in any darkness.”

During an interview with ET’s Lauren Zima at Variety’s Power of Women event at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts on Thursday, Perry, 36, revealed her daughter’s current word fixation.

“She is talking, but she thinks everything is a cat,” Perry said. “… When a person will walk in she will say ‘Hi, gato!’ I don’t know why she is so fascinated with cats.”

She added of the Spanish word for cat, “It’s wild [because] people who love my music, they call themselves Katy Cats. She doesn’t know anything about that, she doesn’t care about any of that, but for some reason the major word in her life is gato. It feels like destiny.”

When asked what it meant to her to be recognised at the event, Perry told ET, “It’s nice to be honored in that way.”

“I got to start a foundation with my sister in 2018,” she said of Firework Foundation, which seeks to empower children from marginalised communities via the arts. “To shine a light on that tonight, I’m very honored. I think women lifting up women is so necessary and so important, because if we don’t, who will?”
