Up until now, Kim Kardashian has remained tight-lipped about her personal life with Kanye West and the end of their relationship. However, in a new interview with American Vogue, Kardashian chose to lay it all out on the table, telling the publication ‘I’ve chosen myself.’
“I think it’s okay to choose you,” Kim told the magazine. “For so long, I did what made other people happy. And I think in the last two years I decided, I’m going to make myself happy. And that feels really good. And even if that created changes and caused my divorce, I think it’s important to be honest with yourself about what really makes you happy.”
Kim, 41, filed for divorce from Kanye, 44, in February 2021 after nearly seven years of marriage. The pair, who tied the knot in 2014, share four kids together: daughters North, 8, and Chicago, 4, and sons Saint, 6, and Psalm, 2.
The KKW Beauty founder went on to note that, despite her tumultuous split from the rapper, she never wants to speak poorly about him for the sake of their kids. “You could be so hurt or angry at your ex, but I think in front of the kids, it always has to be ‘Your dad’s the best,’” she said. “Make sure you are your co-parent’s biggest cheerleader, no matter what you’re personally going through.”
Looking ahead, Kim Kardashian is focused on putting herself first.
“My 40s are about being Team Me. I’m going to eat well. I’m going to work out. I’m going to have more fun, spend more time with my kids and the people who make me happy,” she continued. “I’m going to put my phone down. Unfollow if I don’t want to see something on Instagram. Khloé came up with the best phrase for that yesterday. She said, ‘Post and ghost,’” she added, referring to her younger sister.
Kim’s comments about her divorce from Kanye came just days after the rapper publicly blasted his estranged wife for her parenting choices.
Meanwhile, Julia Fox is insisting that she and Kanye West are going strong in their relationship, amid a new post shared by the rapper that appears to suggest otherwise.
Months before his new romance with Julia Fox, Kanye West – whose legal name is now Ye – expressed his desire to be reunited with Kim Kardashian.
He insisted that he’d “never even seen” his and Kim’s divorce papers and continued to refer to her as his “wife,” before taking to the stage in December to sing: “I need you to run right back to me, baby… More specifically, Kimberly.”
After making their relationship official, Julia and Kanye faced plenty of rumors around their relationship, but Julia has finally decided to address them.
Julia appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast this week to set the record straight that he and Ye are in fact a serious relationship. “I call him my boyfriend and he calls me his girlfriend,” she said.
Going on to discuss Ye’s recent attempts to win Kim back, Julia says that it’s “human” to have “residual feelings” for an ex.
“I’m sure there’s still some residual feelings, and that’s normal, it’s human,” Fox said about any lingering feelings he has about his estranged wife. She boasted, “I also know that he’s with me now. And that’s all that matters.” She even had a response for those that doubt their relationship … “Time will tell, you’ll just see.”
