Kit Harington Was The Original Hero To End Night King’s Reign, Leaks Maisie Williams

“It was going to go that way”

In a recent interview with Hollywood Reporter, Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams has addressed Kit Harington’s letdowns in the controversial last season of the show.

Maisie who played the coming of age character Arya Stark killed one of the show’s biggest antagonists, the Night King in Season 8. But it was Jon Snow,[ Kit Harington’s] character who had the most hyped character developments in the show, considered to be the one to put an end to his arch-nemesis, the Night King, and end the long night, as it was implied in the earlier seasons and was expected by fans.

But at the end of the action-packed episode 3 of the show, it was Maisie’s badass character who landed the finishing blow to the Night King which ended the long night and saved the fictional world. This wouldn’t have come off as a huge surprise if the show hadn’t already letdown Jon Snow or his true name Aegon Targaryen, by weakening his strong screen presence, having him lose his interest for the iron throne for his love interest Daenerys.

“He [Kit] expected it to go that way, too, and he even said, ‘It was going to go that way. Someone told me in season three that I was going to kill The Night King.’ And then, he read the script, and it was Arya the whole time*laughs*.” Revealed Williams

“Yeah, I think it would’ve been too obvious. I’m glad that it was Arya, honestly. I think I had the best storyline of the final season.” Playfully said, Maisie.

Game of Thrones is one of the highest-rated shows, comes at no. 11 of IMDB’s Top Rated TV Shows with the site giving it a rating of 9.2, though the show was much higher in rating before the infamous season 8. Fans had high expectations for Game of Thrones, which aired its first season in 2011. With year-long gaps between each season, fans discussed theories, rewatching episodes carefully for hints, and waited for the last season of the show, only to disappointingly having their expectations subverted. Maisie has moved on to other projects including a marvel film and a dark TV show called Two Weeks To Live, while Kit harington has landed a role in Netflix’s The Criminal.
