Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard made a comment on Bathing their kids when they ‘Stink’ last month
Kristen Bell is finally putting the controversy about bathing her kids to an end by explaining that it was a ‘joke.’ While appearing for an interview with ET, Bell explained to the host that she never thought this discussion would become such a controversial debate about Hollywood’s hygiene. “I thought, ‘America is not gonna dig deep into this and wants all the intel on how often people bathe, right?’ Because there are much more important topics,” the actress said.
“But it was kind of funny when, like, we started being asked about it, and then the interviewers didn’t even know that Dax’s podcast was the one that started the questions. And by the way, a room full of four comedians — Dax, Monica Padman, Ashton Kutcher, and Mila Kunis — who was ‘joking’ about bathing, and then the world took it seriously,” Kristen Bell added on the debate surrounding bathing her kids.
This debate originally began when the Hollywood couple Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis made an appearance on Bell’s husband Dax Shepard and Monica Padman’s podcast, “Armchair Expert” earlier in July. Over there, the ‘Friends with Benefits’ actress commented on how often she prefers to bathe her kids by confessing that they do not go through a bathing routine every day. Ashton supported his wife and added, “If you can see the dirt on them, clean them. Otherwise, there’s no point.”
A few days after this episode, Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell interviewed for ‘The View’ where they made similar comments about bathing their kids.
“Once you catch a whiff, that’s biology’s way of letting you know you need to clean it up,” the ‘Good place’ star said. “There’s a red flag. Honestly, it’s just bacteria. Once you get bacteria, you gotta be like, ‘Get in the tub or the shower,’” she added. However, what started as a joke and a healthy conversation, made people question these stars’ hygiene. This has made various other celebs like Jake Gyllenhaal and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson also spills details about their hygiene routine.
However, now Kristen Bell is done with the controversy and has put everything open on the table by confessing, “And I have bad hygiene, I am going to go ahead and be honest with you.” She further went on to make some more remarks, “We were just talking about this because there has to be a rule for everybody and it’s like, ‘No, there doesn’t.’ You know, everyone is different,” she says of about her family’s routines. “Like, if you have a workout shower, if you want to go a couple of days without [a shower], great. If you have bad hygiene, that’s not on me.”
The 41-year-old actress finally ended her conversation with a little tip to the world.
“I think people maybe need a little bit of a lesson of what is a joke and what is not. Because now people are acting like this is an actual Supreme Court case,” she said. Kristen Bell will soon be seen scamming people in her upcoming movie, Queenpins, staring Bebe Rexha and Kirby Howell-Baptiste. The actress is very excited for the world to watch her new crime-comedy film. Queenpins will be released in theaters on Sept 10.
