Kristen Bell’s new Netflix series, The Woman in the House Across the Street From the Girl in the Window, just released, but the actress revealed that her husband, Dax Shepard, wasn’t allowed to watch the show prior to its debut.
Already considered as the number one most-watched in the United States, Kristen Bell’s new show is about heartbroken Anna, who “every day is the same. She sits with her wine, staring out the window, watching life go by without her. But when a handsome neighbor (Tom Riley) and his adorable daughter (Samsara Yett) move in across the street, Anna starts to see a light at the end of the tunnel. That is until she witnesses a gruesome murder… Or did she?”
In an interview with ET, Kristen Bell explained that she wanted her hubby, Dax Shepard, to experience the new show clean without any surprises. Here’s what she says, exactly:
“I didn’t let him see any of this. He didn’t read any of it because I want him to be able to watch it and have all the surprises as an audience member.”
The dark comedy shows Bell drinking glasses of wine throughout the show, and she revealed how “hibiscus tea” was made to look like wine for the shoot.
“The first day it was grape juice, and I had a sugar crash, and we figured out that hibiscus tea was a better option,” Bell revealed. “It’s really tart and it’s delicious. I was so hydrated during this show. There’s never been anyone 80 percent water, and I’d say I was 99 percent water during this whole show. So, a lot of runs to the bathroom, but I quite enjoyed the hibiscus tea.”
While the wine played an integral part of the show, another object that had a major role in the show was the all-knowing casserole.
Speaking of it Bell joked, “The casserole had its own dressing room, and we weren’t allowed in. I guess it was like food safety and stuff. I never had an inanimate object as a scene partner, and I guess I enjoyed it, but by the end I can do without the smell.”
The Woman in the House Across the Street From the Girl in the Window premiered on Jan. 28 on Netflix.
