Elvis Presley’s look-alike grandson and Lisa Marie Presley’s son, Benjamin Keough died at the age of 27. He was found by local authorities in his Calabasas mansion and was reported dead by a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The police responded to a ‘rescue call’ in the early hours of sunday and arived at the scene to find him suffering from a gunshot wound on his upper torso . “The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.” added the officials.
Benjamin Keough was the son of Elvis Presley’s only child, Lisa Marie Presley and musician Danny Keough. He was brother to actress, Riley Keough, known for her roles in indie and horror films like ‘The Lodge’
Born to a largely famous family, Benjamin Keough kept a rather low profile, however, his striking resemblance to his infamous grandfather, Elvis Presley had him in the spotlight. “Ben does look so much like Elvis. Everybody was grabbing him for a photo because it is just uncanny. Sometimes I am overwhelmed when I look at him.” said the 51-year-old mother.
A musician, himself, Benjamin had struck a record deal back in 2009 for $5 million and had a few acting credits under his name. However, the last time he was seen in person was at The King, Elvis Presley’s 40th death anniversary.
Responding to Benjamin Keough’s death, his mother’s manager said “She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and her oldest daughter Riley. She adored that boy. He was the love of her life.”
In 2019, the mother of three other children had taken to social media to post a picture with all of her children tagging it “Mama Lion with cubs”. And in response, many wrote about the resemblance of Benjamin to Elvis Presley.
Benjamin Keough’s death was mourned by several who knew the man. Nancy Sinatra, who once starred alongside Elvis Presley sent her condolences to Lisa Marie Presley on twitter saying “I have known you since before your mama gave birth to you, never dreaming you would have pain like this in your life. I’m so very sorry.”
The mother and son were very close to one another and even had matching tattoos. She wrote a song called “Storm and Grace” about him.
