Amidst the coronavirus outbreak taking over the world, actor Tom Hanks and his wife, actress Rita Wilson, became Hollywood’s first high-profile case of testing positive for the virus. And as the number of coronavirus positive cases all over the world continue increasing, more and more names are getting added to the list of celebrities with coronavirus.

The first celebs to publicly share their diagnosis, Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson possibly contracted the coronavirus while they were in Australia. After feeling flu-like symptoms, the couple was tested positive for the virus and have, since then, been observing quarantine in a rented home in Australia.

The next name on the list of celebrities with coronavirus was added on 15th March, when the former Bond girl (in 2008 Quantum Of Solace) Olga Kurylenko, tested positive for the virus. Sharing the news with her followers, the French actress urged everyone to stay safe and take the situation seriously.

While Idris Elba suffered no symptoms akin to coronavirus, the British actor decided to get the test done as he had been exposed to someone who had been diagnosed with the virus. On 16th March, he shared that he has indeed tested positive for coronavirus and even as he remains symptom-free, he is in self-quarantine.

On the same day, after Idris, Game Of Thrones fame Norwegian actor Kristofer Hivju shared that he tested positive for the virus and though he has very mild symptoms, he is self-isolating at home as he may still spread it to people who are “at higher risk.”

Through her Instagram stories, actress Rachel Matthews, who had voiced the character of Honeymaren in Frozen 2, shared on 16th March that she had tested positive for coronavirus and had been in self-quarantine for several days.

“We have the power to slow this (coronavirus) down,” wrote singer Charlotte Lawrence, whose song “Joke’s On You” appeared on the Birds of Prey soundtrack, in her Instagram post on 17th March wherein she shared that she had tested positive for coronavirus.

Another Game of Thrones actor, Indira Varma, joined the growing number of celebrities with coronavirus. “I’m in bed with it and it’s not nice. Stay safe and healthy and be kind to your fellow people,” read her Instagram post on 18th March.

Actor Daniel Dae Kim, starring in NBC’s series New Amsterdam whose production has been halted, is the latest in the list of celebrities with coronavirus after he announced that he had tested positive and is currently observing self-isolation in his home in Hawaii.
