Although Sridevi is not physically present between us, her absence was never felt. We keep hearing about the legendary actress every now and then. She has been kept alive not just in memories but also via commemorating her achievements.
In 2018 she was bestowed with the National Award for the Best Actress for her film Mom , two months after her death. Yet again, at the Cannes Film Festival this year, she was awarded the TITAN Reginald F Lewis Film Icon Award, which is given to leading women in the film industry all over the world. Another feather in the cap has been the recent installation of her wax statue at Madame Tussauds Museum.
The Singapore Museum honors the legend with her wax statue
Madame Tussauds, Singapore is home to a lot of celebrities, commemorating their achievements and immortalizing them. Among the latest addition to the museum was Sridevi. The decision to make this statue was taken on her 53rd birth anniversary, 13th August.
The statue is not a random portrait of the Indian actress, it is indeed a character that they have tried to capture. We see her in her Hawa Hawai avatar, in that sparkling yellow fairy-like look.
Boney Kapoor along with Jhanvi and Khushi unveil the statue
Doting husband and adorable daughters were present at Madame Tussauds in Singapore to unveil the wax statue of the evergreen beauty, Sridevi.
Looking at the pictures, seeing the family standing hand in hand, we can tell that it was indeed an emotional moment for everyone on stage. Holding the statue’s hand might not be the same as holding Sridevi’s hand in real life, but we are sure the statue would have sent shivers down their spine: seeing her there, standing and smiling must have unleashed an ocean full of emotions in them.
Thank you for celebrating our star, Madame Tussauds museum!
