Matt Damon and Ben Affleck have joined Omaze and are using the power of their close-friendship to help their new charity.
The iconic Oscar-winning duo has teamed with Omaze, which raises funds for other charities and rewards donators with flamboyant gifts. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck made a video addressing their charities called Water.org. and The Eastern Congo Initiative with a satirical skit dissing each other’s roles.
The 50-year-old Matt and the 48-year-old Ben wore casual plain tees and began the video describing the big prize Omaze will provide to a lucky donator. The winner would get to bring one friend to an all-expenses-paid trip to LA, where they would get to meet, have lunch and hang out with the charming A-list acting duo.
The video was going all well until Ben Affleck’s directing instincts kicked in and stopped Damon to inform him that he isn’t giving method performance in the video.
“Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Cut. Cut. Cut,” interrupted the Argo actor and director. “You gotta spice it up. You gotta be appealing.”
Matt replied in bewilderment saying- “What do you mean ‘spice it up’?” To which Ben added by notifying his childhood friend that his acting was so bleak that the not only the winner but “no one wants to come have dinner with this guy” then instructed him by smashing his fists together and encouraged Matt to “push it.”
But the second time was no charm as Ben was disappointed again at Matt’s performance. “Dude,” sighed Ben .’ Advising, “Tell them something they’re interested in like, ‘Hey, come see Jason Bourne and Batman …”
Then Damon takes a dig at his friend by saying “Robert Pattinson’s coming?” and Ben quickly made a mocking reply by stating “No, Jeremy Renner will be there, though.” which started a flurry of disses between Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.
This comes after Robert Pattinson took over Ben Affleck’s role as Gotham’s vengeance in Matt Reeves upcoming gritty DC flick ‘The Batman’ which resumed it’s shooting. Affleck first appeared as the dark knight in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and made his last appearance in the 2017’s controversial flop, Justice League, as he quit the coveted role due to his personal problems and his battle with alcoholism which he has overcome now and the actor looked his best in a while as he looked in shape along with a clean-shaven face in the video.
While Jeremy Renner took over the role of the amnesiac assassin, Jason Bourne replacing Damon in ‘The Bourne Legacy’, to which he explained that he ‘expanded the Bourne universe’ but didn’t play Jason Bourne.
“Well, he improved on it,’ Ben added. Again, Matt made a jab at him by saying “Pattinson took your job.”
Despite all the laughs, they addressed their humble cause to raise donations to help the charities founded by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck which is Water.org. and The Eastern Congo initiative.
