Giving an insight into the other artists featuring in the Miley Cyrus and Elton John collaboration track – Miley said, “I did a Metallica cover of ‘Nothing Else Matters’ featuring Elton John on piano. I’ve got Yo-Yo Ma, Chad Smith; so many all-stars. I’m so excited about this collaboration. I’m really stoked.’

Understanding that this combination of song and artists is quite unusual for listeners, Miley spoke, “I mean, having Elton John and Metallica and me … I love when ingredients don’t quite fit.” She added, “Or it seems like a concoction that no one would ever put together, and you gotta have someone like [the song’s producer Andrew] Watt that will take that risk.”

Miley had previously performed her live version of Metallica’s ‘Nothing Else Matters’ during her performance at Glastonbury in 2019. Earlier, Metallica’s drummer Lars Ulrich had given a shout-out to Miley Cyrus when he was “stunned” by Miley’s rendition of – Temple of the Dog’s, ‘Say Hello 2 Heaven’ at the ‘I Am The Highway: A Tribute To Chris Cornell’ concert at the Forum, in Los Angeles.

According to Miley Cyrus, she has been working on an album of Metallica covers since last October. She has also credited Metallica as the inspiration behind her latest album, ‘Plastic Hearts.’ The album featured collaborations with artists like Billy Idol, Ozzy Osbourne, and Dua Lipa. The Miley Cyrus and Elton John collaboration track is produced by Andre Watts, who also worked on Miley’s ‘Plastic Hearts.’

This unusual combination of A former Disney channel star, a gay icon, and an acclaimed classical cellist is a collaboration that cannot be missed. In Miley Cyrus’ words, she is looking forward to ‘More f—— music’ in 2021, and so are we.
