Miley Cyrus’s Heart Felt Message To The “Pandemic Class” Of 2020 Explains A Lot Of Things

#Graduation2020

In trying times like these, one needs to look harder to find joyous things. But, the graduating class of 2020—who were probably sulking about missing out on real-time fun on a special occasion like this—were surprised to an impassioned rendition by Miley Cyrus, of her 2009 hit track, “The Climb”. The 27-year-old Twerk star partook in the virtual graduation day celebration, which streamed live Friday on Facebook Watch. Needless to say, scores of netizens began to google up for Miley Cyrus 2020 to avoid major FOMO.

The electrifying performance was conducted against a glitzy backdrop, which saw Miley positioned behind a shimmery blue and gold podium during her gig.

Miley Cyrus also had a few words of wisdom to pass on to the “Pandemic Class”—as termed by Oprah Winfrey—right before she got started with the soulful virtual performance. “Hello to all the graduates out there. I’m truly honoured to celebrate each and every one of you high school and college seniors and all that you’ve accomplished,” said Miley. “As I was thinking about you, the Class of 2020 and how you inspire me, I knew I wanted to share this song with you. It feels full of a new meaning. Keep the faith, keep on moving, keep climbing. Here’s ‘The Climb,” she added.

The song, which topped the charts nearly a decade ago, resonated with the vibe of the graduating batch who had mixed emotions. The popular track’s lyrics touch upon the challenges people face on difficult but rewarding journeys.

Miley then went on to perform on one of her all time classics— the lead single from the soundtrack of Hannah Montana: The Movie. Strangely though, everyone caught the ‘Hannah Montana 2020’ vibe.

The star-studded event saw an impressive line-up including Chrissy Metz, J.J. Watt, Cardi B, Simone Biles and Miley Cyrus of course. The gig was co-hosted by Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak, and also comprised a heart-warming commencement speech by Oprah Winfrey.

Miley has been active on social media all through the quarantine, and while she’s waiting for a miracle and things to get back to normal, the Disney star recently spoke to a media outlet about how grateful she was to be stable during a crisis like this, and was thankful to have food on her table and be comfortable in her own space.
