Naomi Scott is a name that needs no introduction. For many of her fans, she is the new age Jasmine, who stole the heart of Aladdin as well as numerous viewers. Well, the 27-year-old has had a solid journey in the film industry. Interestingly, her association with Disney studio is something really noteworthy. Right from her debut to her path-breaking film, they have had a fruitful collaboration and here, we throw light on the same for the uninitiated.
Naomi Scott’s debut
Naomi Scott stepped into the world of television at the age of 15. Through Life Bites (2008), the youngster marked her arrival to the entertainment industry. Not many might know that Life Bites was a series by Disney Channel UK. Interestingly, the show was an English adaptation of Life Bites- Pillole Di Vita, a super successful programme aired in Disney Channel Italy. In the British version, Naomi Scott played a character named Meg and it was a kind of a dream debut that any budding actress could think of. The young girl made the best use of the launch pad that she got by doing full justice to the role.
The first recognition
Well, she had to wait a couple of years more to get the first major recognition in an American television series. Again, the brand Disney was a part of the show, which earned her that much-needed fame and name. In 2011, Naomi Scott played a crucial role in an American musical television film titled Lemonade Mouth. The originals produced by the top production house had featured the young actress as Mohini Banerjee, the bassist of a band named Lemonade Mouth. Not to forget, this Disney movie also established her prowess as a singer. She performed in the song Breakthrough, which was one among the numbers played by the troupe.
The game changer for the actress
It was a Walt Disney movie that provided the big turning point in her career. Not all were happy, when the makers of Aladdin decided to cast Naomi Scott as Jasmine. However, she silenced all of them with her portrayal of the leading lady in this film. Critics were all praises for her performance. It wouldn’t be wrong to categorise Naomi Scott’s career as before and after Aladdin, as such is the recognition she earned with this Guy Ritchie directorial.
Naomi Scott‘s next big dream
Well, all this rightly shows that Naomi Scott has had a dream association with Disney. Well, the actress does have a big dream about which she opened up in an interview from the recent past. The Aladdin star opened up that she would love to play a Disney Villain sometime. “Although this wouldn’t work for me, I would love to play Cruella De Vil. She is not a nice person but so much fun to play, so I would probably love to play a Disney villain,”, the 27-year-old stated. Well, let’s hope that the wonderful collaboration of Disney and Naomi Scott continues and we get to see some fabulous works.
