On Sridevi’s Second Death Anniversary, Janhvi Kapoor Shares The Most Adorable Picture With Her Mother

We miss you too, Miss Hawa-Hawai!

Two years ago on February 24th, 2018, the world of cinema lost one of its priceless gems– Sridevi, the yesteryear actress who had enriched Bollywood with her charisma on-screen, no matter what role she was in. On her second anniversary, many from the film industry mourned her absence including her daughter, actor Janhvi Kapoor who posted an adorable picture from her childhood remembering her mother.

Janhvi Kapoor took to Instagram to share a black and white image, where she looks pretty young as she tightly hugged a super happy Sridevi who was all smiles as they laid on a sofa. “Miss you every day,” she captioned the picture. 

Last year, on Sridevi’s birth anniversary too, Janhvi Kapoor had penned a simple “Happy Birthday Mumma, I love you” and paired it with a beautiful picture of her mother. 

Sridevi would have turned 56 today

On February 24th, 2018, Sridevi was in a Dubai hotel, to attend her husband’s nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding, when she passed away at the age of 54 due to accidental drowning. The nation and her family, friends, everyone was left in shock and disbelief at her sudden death as she had recently stepped into cinema after a long break and had stunned everyone with English Vinglish. 

Sridevi began her career at the young age of 4

She dominated cinema in the ’80s and ’90s, after beginning her career at the age of four in the devotional film Thunaivan. Since then, she has worked in different film industries- Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and of course, Hindi movies and left her mark with her acting prowess. 

From hit South Indian films like “16 Vayathinile”, “Sigappu Rojakkal”, “Moondram Pirai” to reigning in Bollywood with lead roles in films like “Solva Sawan” “Himmatwala”, “Mawaali”, “Mr India”, “Chandni”, “Nagina” and “Khuda Gawah” she was everywhere!

Before her sudden demise, she was last seen in a leading role in the drama suspense film “Mom” of 2018. She was posthumously honoured for her moving persona on-screen with a National Award. 

Her mother’s unexpected absence from her life has only fueled Janhvi Kapoor to focus on her career

Since the hit Dhadak opposite Ishant Khattar in 2018, Janhvi Kapoor has been last starred in Netflix’s Ghost Stories and also has a couple of projects lined up: Dostana 2, Roohi Afza, and Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl.
