Hours after the World Health Organization declared COVID 19 or the infamous Coronavirus a global pandemic, the world went into a meltdown. Countries immediately imposed visa restrictions and one could see panic taking over.
We had not quite well digested this announcement when suddenly the news of one of the most famous international faces having Coronavirus came in. Tom Hanks was tested positive this morning along with his wife Rita Wilson and the duo was quick to update their fans about it via an Instagram post.
When? How? WHYYYYYY?
The couple was in Queensland, Australia when they started experiencing symptoms of cold, cough and weakness. Taking immediate action, they decided to get themselves tested and that is when the most unfortunate news of the day got confirmed. Tom Hanks was shooting for a film covering the life of Elvis Presley and now the entire production too is getting tested for the same.
Now they are both kept in isolation with some of the best medical minds from the world treating them. In his post, Hanks wrote, “Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no? We’ll keep the world posted and updated. Take care of yourselves!”
Can Tom Hanks beat Coronavirus?
While there is a major panic around thanks to the quick spread of this virus, people also understand that it is curable. In fact, the death rate caused by Coronavirus is less than 5%. Reports reveal that mostly infants and old people who have a weak immunity system are likely to face severe consequences including death.
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, both 63, are unfortunately in their old age and hence, will need to really put up a fight to survive this virus. Adding to hope and optimism, their son, Chet Hanks further commented on the matter and said, “I just got off the phone with them. They both are fine. They’re not even that sick. They’re not worried about it. They’re not trippin’ but they’re going through the necessary health precautions obviously. I don’t think it’s anything to be too worried about. I appreciate everyone’s concern and the well wishes. I think it’s all going to be alright. I appreciate it. Everybody stay safe out there. Much love.”
Sending lots of wishes and prayers their way! Stay tuned for more updates on this.
