Pete Davidson And Kate McKinnon Bid Farewell To SNL

The performance stole everyone’s hearts!

Pete Davidson and Kate McKinnon have said goodbye to SNL, one of the most popular reality shows that garnered a huge fanbase in its course. After eight seasons of Saturday Night Live, The King of Staten Island star got surprised by Eminem, who joined the comedian in his parody rendition of the rapper and Dr. Dre’s 1999 hit “Forgot About Dre.”

A little bit on Pete Davidson’s SNL skit

The 49-year-old rapper joined Pete Davidson on the 47th season finale of SNL on May 21 as part of a cut-for-time musical sketch in tribute to producer Lorne Michaels.

The skit included the 28-year-old comedian rapping about the legendary producer’s lifetime accomplishments and also crediting him for launching the careers of famous comedians such as John Belushi, David Spade, Tina Fey and Will Ferrell. The short skit started with host Natasha Lyonne approaching Davidson to tell him that Michaels is upset because now that the former is leaving, he won’t be able to make his long-lasting wish of starring alongside the young comedian in one of his parody music videos come true.

“That guy has literally done everything for me, so I’m going to pay him back by doing this rap video exactly the way he wrote it,” Davidson tells Lyonne in the skit. Later on, Davidson shows up dressed as Michaels while throwing lines about the revered producer whose face showed up as deep fakes scattered throughout the video. The popular beat from “Forgot About Dre” guided his rapping.

“So what do you say about a comedy great? Been doing it himself for half a century straight,” Davidson rapped mimicking Eminem. But he was in for a surprise, as the king of rap himself appeared on the show and shouted at the star from off-camera.

“It’s another parody, it’s like another tribute or something?” he asks Davidson to which the latter replies, “Yeah, this is like the third one.” “Yeah, they all suck. Just please, stop,” said Eminem. To which the comedian explained, “Honestly we just do these because we love you so much, it’s like a tribute.”

“Pete, don’t f*****g do it again,” retorted Eminem pointing his finger at Davidson who yells “You blew it!” to a character playing Michaels.

A bit on Kate McKinnon’s last SNL skit

Kate McKinnon, the 38-year-old actress also performed her last in the show. She appeared during the episode’s cold-open in the “Close Encounter” sketch where she rebooted her role of Miss Rafferty, a woman who falls victim to alien abduction and experiences a different fate than other abductees.

We are surely going to miss Pete Davidson and Kate McKinnon in SNL!
