Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have welcomed their newborn daughter and the royal family members are filled with joy.
It was on Valentine’s Day back in February when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had declared that they are expecting a second child, and now the momentous day is here.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed the birth of their baby girl yesterday, who has been named after both Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have named their daughter Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor
A press statement from the couple revealed the awaited name of their second baby:
“It is with great joy that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, welcome their daughter, Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, to the world,” read the official statement.
The statement also went on to pen the details of when and where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby girl, Lili, was delivered.
“Lili was born on Friday, June 4 at 11:40 a.m. in the trusted care of the doctors and staff at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, CA. She weighed 7 lbs 11 oz. Both mother and child are healthy and well, and settling in at home,” the statement continued. “Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet. Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales.”
The statement also mentioned the couple’s first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, who has now become the big brother to Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
“This is the second child for the couple, who also have a two-year-old son named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. The Duke and Duchess thank you for your warm wishes and prayers as they enjoy this special time as a family.”
While there was a lot of alleged controversial talk going on among the royal family members regarding the birth of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s daughter, the couple also received a ton of well wishes from them.
It seems even her majesty, Queen Elizabeth, who has now become the great-grandmother to eleven children, is filled with joy as she was mentioned in a tweet from the official Twitter account of the royal family.
The tweet also mentioned The Prince of Wales, Charles and his wife, The Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla and Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, also took to their Instagram account to share a heartfelt message, going with a photo of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The message from Prince William and Kate Middleton read as follows:
“We are all delighted by the happy news of the arrival of baby Lili. Congratulations to Harry, Meghan and Archie.”
Last but not the least, Prince Harry’s cousin and the daughter of the Duchess of York, Princess Eugenie also wrote a blessing in her Instagram stories. She wrote along with a photo of Meghan Markle’s baby bump reveal.
Congratulations dear cousins.. we couldn’t be happier for you all,” wrote Princess Eugenie.
