Prince Harry Sues Sun And Mirror Owners In The Case Of Phone Hacking

“My deepest fear is history repeating itself.”

Prince Harry has always been in the spotlight since he belongs to the extravagant British Royal family. He has been in the public eye and fighting against the British tabloids for years now.

In the allegations of phone hacking, Prince Harry- the Duke of Sussex has filed a legal complaint in October against the UK newspapers. The newspapers include the Sun which is owned by the Newsgroup and the Daily Mirror which is owned by the Mirror Network Group, for intrusion in his private life.

Prince Harry’s phone was being hacked for a long time, as told by a whistleblower to ByLineInvestigates. His phone was being tapped when he was studying for GCSEs. The purpose was to know about his activities and communication related to drug involvement to enhance the newspaper’s project. The hacker found no evidence of drug involvement though.

The complaint was filed from Buckingham Palace, which started the investigation where it was found that Prince William, Harry, and Kate were all being hacked for quite some time.

A spokeswoman for Harry said, “Claims have been filed on behalf of the Duke of Sussex at the High Court regarding the illegal interception of voicemail messages.”

In the case of phone hacking, Prince Harry is suing the two news giants in the UK for more than £200,000 for all the damages. The Duke lost trust over his friends and close family members because of the press articles that targeted him when he was a small 12-year-old child.

Prince Harry and his wife Megan Markle are taking separate legal action against the Mail for publishing a personal letter to her father. Harry felt that history was repeating itself in regards to the treatment Megan was getting from the British tabloids. He said that this was “relentless propaganda” in his statement by the Duke of Sussex.

Harry addressed this statement back to the time when his mother, Princess Diana, died in a car crash in Paris in 1997. He was always in the news, and the paps followed him for pictures, even at the funeral.

In his statement to the gross violation, Harry also added, “My deepest fear is history repeating itself, I’ve seen what happens when someone I love is commoditised to the point that they’re no longer treated or seen as a real person. I have lost my mother, and now I watch my wife falling victim to the same powerful violation”.

Prince Harry & Megan Markle might have put on a brave face, but it has been excruciating to go through this while also raising a newborn child.
