Lady Kitty Spencer and Michael Lewis married on Saturday in a grandiose wedding ceremony in Frascati, Rome.
Princess Diana’s niece, Lady Kitty, is a model and Dolce & Gabbana’s brand ambassador. The daughter of Earl Spencer and his first wife, Victoria Lockwood, stunned in a sequence of gowns designed exclusively for her by the fashion house, while the Italian couple also attired many of their glamorous guests. A spokesperson for the Italian fashion house wrote on Instagram on Sunday, alongside a video of Spencer wearing five dresses that the house “created a number of exclusive hand-made gowns” for the bride. She dazzled in six different wedding gowns from Dolce & Gabbana’s Alta Moda branch. And, while each gown was unique, they were all inspired by her English heritage and her love of Italian culture. In an interview with Tatler, Domenico Dolce mentioned, “One of the inspirations is definitely her love for Italy. Kitty is in love with our beautiful country and its rich history, art and culture.”
The first outfit is a blue tulle gown with a matching cloak and pink flowers sewn on it. Photographer German Larkin took a photo of Spencer wearing the gown at what appears to be her wedding reception, which was posted by the brand.
Flowers were also stitched on two of the other four outfits. Spencer can be seen wearing a classic white bridal gown.
Dolce & Gabbana said on Instagram that the lace gown, which had a high neckline, puffed shoulders, and full-length sleeves, was inspired by the Victorian era. Larkin photographed Lady Kitty Spencer in the wedding gown which the brand posted on Instagram.
The wedding was attended by many distinguished guests like actor Idris Elba and his wife, Sabrina, Made in Chelsea’s Mark Francis Vandelli, and singer Pixie Lott. However, in a break from tradition, the bride was escorted down the aisle by her brothers, Louis Spencer and Samuel Aitken, rather than her father, Princess Diana’s youngest brother, Charles, according to reports. It was also reported that Prince William and Kate Middleton couldn’t miss Lady Kitty Spencer’s wedding. Despite having close ties to both William and Harry, Princess Diana’s niece and her billionaire husband exchanged vows without the presence of either royal brother.
The bride and groom started off their ceremonies on Friday night with a dinner party at Rome’s exclusive Galleria Del Cardinale restaurant, accompanied by royal guests, before celebrating a sunset wedding on Sunday.
