Priyanka Chopra Jonas is more of a phenomenon than a mere name today- from being crowned as the Miss World in 2000 to becoming an international star, she has established herself as an A-list star both in Hollywood and Bollywood with a net worth of $20 million. But, for quite some time now, the topic of discussion is her marriage to pop-star Nick Jonas, with many going as far as to speculate how long this Hollywood union would stick. Well, judging by the fact that Priyanka Chopra, the former Miss World considers her hubby “a keeper” who is like a “version of my father”, the duo is pretty much in love!
In her recent appearance on Diane von Furstenberg’s Spotify podcast InCharge with DVF, Priyanka Chopra opened up about her relationship with Nick Jonas and compared him to her late father, Dr. Ashok Chopra, whom she lost to cancer.
“I always tell him that [he reminds me of my father],” Priyanka Chopra shared. “I feel like my mother manifested him in my life. And you know, they always say that girls end up marrying someone who’s like your father, and Nick is. He’s someone who’s the life of a party. He’ll always have friends around him, he’ll make people laugh, super thoughtful, conscientious, kind. I do feel like I ended up marrying a version of my dad.”
She went on explain how Nick Jonas is not someone who would become insecure about her success or Priyanka Chopra’s sky-rocketing net worth as he “feels empowered when he sees me empowered”- a quality which attracted her to him.
“He’ll stand on a carpet on the side and watch when they’re taking pictures. He’ll, like, want to see things I’ve done. Like, he feels so proud. We wrote five things that we love about each other. And the first thing he said was, ‘Your ambition’. I’ve never heard a guy say that,” she said.
His understanding and constant support made Priyanka Chopra realize that he was “a keeper” who “swept her off her feet” and also made her realize that she too matters in a relationship as before Nick, she “tended to erase me in the relationship”.
So, even though, today they have “crazy careers” they make sure to find time for each other and “fly to each other wherever in the world we are.”
