Due to the attack on the Asian-Americans who live in the United States, many Americans came out on their streets to protest against this violence. Rihanna is one of those persons to take part in the Anti Asian Hate protest.
On Monday, Rihanna was seen at the Anti Asian Hate protest in New York City. Rihanna was mainly in disguise and was seen taking part in the march actively. The singer was seen wearing a mask and black-and-white leather jacket and pants.
Rihanna revealed her identity when a fellow protester approached her to ask her for her Instagram account to tag her in a photograph.
The fellow protester got to know her real identity only when Rihanna gave him his real Instagram handle. It took a few moments for the man to realize that the woman ,whom he had asked for the Instagram handle, was after all the famous Barbadian singer.
After having a look at the Instagram account, the man came back to the “Diamonds” singer and said: “That’s you?!”
Rihanna burst out into laughter after seeing his reaction during the protest. The small clip of this incident has gone viral on the Internet. Rihanna joined the Anti Asian Hate protest in New York City by blending herself with the crowd and dancing to the background tunes. She was also joined by her assistant Tina Truong.
The hate crime against Asian Americans is rising day by day. Stop AAPI Hate said: “The reported shootings of multiple Asian American women today in Atlanta is an unspeakable tragedy—for the families of the victims first and foremost, but also for the Asian American community, which has been reeling from high levels of racist attacks over the past year. This latest attack will only exacerbate the fear and pain that the Asian American community continues to endure.”
Rihanna is a Barbadian pop sensation, actress, and businesswoman.
She is well known for her association with cultural and humanitarian causes. Rihanna became one of the first global celebrities to tweet in support of farmer’s protest in India. She is also famous for showing her solidarity during the Black Lives Matter movement last year.
Apart from Rihanna, other celebrities such as Sandra Oh were also seen at the Stop Asian Hate rally in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Sandra Oh also gave a speech related to the concern of growing hate and anger in the community.
