The 41-year-old Australian actress is spilling the beans on why she started her self-described “Year of Health” in 2020, and the major reason is something she hopes to attain in the future. Rebel Wilson lost 65 pounds since the beginning of her weight loss journey.
In a recent Instagram Live, Rebel Wilson was asked by a fan the reasons behind her weight loss. “That is such a massive question,” she said to the fan. “But I’m going to try to answer it for you. It first started when I was looking into fertility stuff and the doctor was like, ‘Well, you’d have a much better chance if you were healthier.'”
“I was actually a bit offended. I thought that even though I was bigger, I was pretty healthy. So that’s what started it – that if I lost some excess weight, it would give me a better chance of freezing eggs and having better quality eggs,” she continued. “At first it wasn’t even for myself, it was thinking of a future mini-me and their quality. That’s what kick-started it.”
Rebel, on the other hand, told her Instagram fans in May that she’d received “bad news” concerning her fertility.
“I got some bad news today and didn’t have anyone to share it with … but I guess I gotta tell someone,” she wrote. “To all the women out there struggling with fertility, I feel ya. The universe works in mysterious ways and sometimes it all doesn’t make sense … but I hope there’s light about to shine through all the dark clouds.”
Rebel Wilson has also claimed that since her weight loss, she has been treated differently.
“I think what’s been really interesting is how other people treat you. Sometimes being bigger, people didn’t necessarily look twice at you. Now that I’m in good shape, people offer to carry my groceries to the car and hold doors open for you. I’m like, is this what other people experienced all the time? … I also find it interesting that people pay so much attention to a weight-loss transformation, when there’s so much going on in the world,” she said.
Rebel Wilson flaunts her incredible 30kg weight loss by recreating Britney Spears’ legendary Crazy music video.
While filming in Atlanta, Rebel Wilson has been releasing sneak peeks of the last sequences for her new film Senior Year. On Friday, she recreated Britney Spears’ 1999 single (You Drive Me) Crazy music video. The actress from Australia shared a video of the scenario, which included a huge ‘Crazy’ sign.
Rebel warmed up with the rest of the cast on set before taking to the stage with a vintage-style microphone to channel Britney. She was dressed in a pink waitress uniform with pigtails. Later, the actress was in her trailer, changing into a shimmering green top.
