In April, Regé-Jean Page announced his exit from the Netflix Original series
Regé-Jean Page, who is famous for his role in a Netflix original series Bridgerton, has recently teased a possibility that he might return for a cameo in the Season 2 of this highly popular series. Rege played the role of Simon Basset, the Duke Of Hastings, who falls in love with a Bridgerton lady, Daphne Bridgerton played by actress Phoebe Dynevor. The complete first season of this series is based on the love story of this duo, however, next season will bring forward another Bridgerton sibling.
Earlier in April, Regé-Jean Page posted an announcement by lady Whistledown which revealed that the young British actor will not be making an appearance in Bridgerton season 2, but his lady love Daphne will be there to support her family. However, now, during an interview with the British GQ, Page has said something that might excite his fans. When asked if he’ll be completely out of the season two, the 31-year-old actor replied, “You know I couldn’t tell you!.” He further said, “Isn’t there something wonderful about being surprised by what you weren’t suspecting?”
This news has made the Bridgerton fans very excited, and they expect to see the young actor with her on-screen wife Daphne once again. Some of the fans, who are familiar with the book on which this series is based, might now be hoping that Page’s cameo will be with Anthony Bridgerton played by Jonathan Bailey in a scene where they play a very friendly game of Pall Mall as in the book Daphne and Simon join in on the game.
During the interview, Regé-Jean Page might have not cleared up the doubt of his future with the Netflix series but he has revealed that he has “respectfully exited” the cast WhatsApp group because “I didn’t want to put them in an awkward situation where they had to kick me out,” he shared.
Bridgerton Season 2 will be based on Anthony Bridgerton, the eldest son of the family who will take up the responsibilities of his family and find a suitable partner for himself. While looking for a suitable match for himself he finds the one he was looking for, named Edwina Sharma, played by Charithra Chandran. However, he later gets distracted by her meddlesome older sister, Kate. This complete season will be based on Kate and Anthony’s story and is called ‘The Viscount Who Loved Me’ in the book.
