Recently, the Barbados-born London-based star Rihanna made a comeback in our lives after four years by featuring in the R&B singer, PartyNextDoor’s new track “BELIEVE IT!”. But even in self-quarantine, the singer continues to win our hearts- she has featured on British Vogue’s May issue’s double cover, making a historical fashion statement in a durag and declared that she will have 3-4 children in the future, whether she finds a suitable partner or not!
Rihanna turned the cover into a fashion milestone with her revolutionary idea- the magazine cover featured a durag for the first time. (FYI, the durag is by the famous British milliner Stephen Jones)
“Although this potent symbol of black life — of self-preservation, resistance and authenticity — has an important place in popular culture, it is rarely viewed through the prism of high fashion,” wrote Edward Enninful, the Editor-in-chief of the magazine. “Yet, here we have the most fabulous, aspirational and beautiful durag, worn by a woman who is breaking every boundary she comes up against.”
Rihanna opened up about her 10-year-plan, which includes having 3-4 children
In the cover story, when asked about where she sees herself in 10 years, she shared that she would “want to live differently” and “will have kids — three or four of ’em” even if she hasn’t found the right person.
“I feel like society makes me want to feel like, ‘Oh, you got it wrong…’ They diminish you as a mother if there’s not a dad in your kids’ lives. But the only thing that matters is happiness, that’s the only healthy relationship between a parent and a child. That’s the only thing that can raise a child truly, is love,” Rihanna said.
And as for that elusive ninth album of hers that we have been waiting for…
“I can’t say when I’m going to drop… but I am very aggressively working on music,” Rihanna said, adding that she is not going to stick to any theme. “There are no rules, there’s no format, there’s nothing. There’s just good music and if I feel it, I’m putting it out. I feel like I have no boundaries. I’ve done everything. I’ve done all the hits, I’ve tried every genre. Now I’m just, I’m wide open. I can make anything that I want.”
