Ryan Reynolds’ kids have been his saving grace during quarantine, but if you know the actor, you know there’s always more to the story.
The Definitely, Maybe actor appeared on Friday’s episode of The Today Show to promote his voice work in the upcoming animation The Croods: A New Age. Speaking to Hoda Kotb, Ryan Reynolds broke down the best and the worst parts of his quarantine, and well, his three daughters found place in both.
“I am not living paycheck to paycheck like so many people across the country are and the world,” he began. “But you know for me, the best—I would say obviously is the time spending with family, with my kids, having an incredibly concentrated amount of time with them during a period in their lives that I’ll never get back.”
Now, that’s adorable! But just when we were starting to get all mushy, the Canadian star did what he does best – throwing in some sarcasm.
“If I’m to pick the worst thing,” he continued. “It’s probably the incredibly concentrated amount of time I’ve had with my kids in a time that I’ll never get back.”
Ryan Reynolds shares three kids with his actress-wife Blake Lively. The couple is parents to daughters James, 5, Inez, 4, and Betty, 1.
The 44-year-old also talked about his first time voting in the U.S. presidential election. While he turned his “first time” into a full fledged joke during the interview, his wife’s Instagram showed what a big moment it was for him.
“It was Ryan’s first time. He was understandably scared. It all happened so fast. Like, REALLY fast. He wept. I pretended to weep. Then he called all his friend,” Gossip Girl alum Blake Lively wrote alongside a picture of them.
This was all about Ryan Reynolds’ kids and family, but an interesting development seems to be going on at the work front as well!
Is there going to be a Deadpool 3 movie?
Glad tidings for Deadpool fans! It seems like there’s finally going to be a third movie in the franchise. Of course, the movie will have Ryan Reynolds reprise his fan-favourite role as the titular superhero.
Ever since the Disney-Fox merger, there had been serious doubts about the fate of the Deadpool franchise. Part of the reason was that the franchise is R-rated, not exactly what Disney is known for.
But that’s a thing of the past because work for the third installment in the series has already started. As Deadline reported, Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin will pen the sequel.
The Molyneux sisters have series like The Great North and Bob’s Burgers to their credit.
“Writer meetings have been taking place over the past month with Reynolds recently meeting with a handful of writers to hear their pitches for the next installment. In the end, the studio and Reynolds saw the sisters’ take as the perfect fit for what they wanted,” the site wrote.
“The film remains in early development, but the hiring of the Molyneux sisters does mark the first major step in getting the next Deadpool film into production.”
