Ryan Reynolds & Will Ferrell will star in the upcoming American Christmas-themed musical film ‘Spirited.’ Just recently, 44-year-old Ryan shared a post on his social media on Tuesday to give us a glimpse of the Apple Original Film, he posted a photo in which we can see both actors facing off each other in a hilarious manner. In the caption, Reynolds jokes about the airpods on his ears with the caption reading-
Day 1 shooting with one of my comedy idols, Will Ferrell. You’d barely notice this was an @Apple movie! Also iOS 14.6 will begin installing in 7 seconds…
The new Ryan Reynolds & Will Ferrell comedy will be an Apple Original movie. ‘Spirited’ will be directed by Sean Anders & John Morris (who directed Daddy’s Home in which Will Ferrell also stars), they are also credited with writing the screenplay for the movie. The filming for the movie began in Boston, Massachusetts in the USA on July 6.
‘Spirited’ was announced in 2019 with news of Sean Anders and John Morris writing and directing the project, with Ryan and Will set to star in main roles in the movie. Apple spent about 75$ million to secure the talent for this movie, which also includes directors Anders and Morris’ paydays, amounting to about 25$ million combined.
‘Spirited’ is a modern musical version of the 1843 Charles Dickens’ novella A Christmas Carol and will be starring Ryan Reynolds as Ebeneezer Scrooge, Will Ferrell as Present, and Sunita Mani as Past, along with Octavia Spencer as a co-worker for Ryan’s character. The plot goes like this- Ebeneezer Scrooge finds his night being invaded by three fine spirits with the intention of making him a much happier human in the future by showing him his unfulfilling past.
This is the first time where both Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds will be working together in a movie. ‘Spirited’ currently has no release date, but it seems unlikely that it will arrive this year, but it can be expected to release by holiday season 2022.
