Sarah Hyland gets emotional in new Instagram stories!

Sarah Hyland’s darkest moments in her life

Sarah Hyland recently took to Instagram on Monday to go on a throwback spree. The 30-year-old actress posted pictures from one of the darkest moments in her life, when she was forced to smile for the camera while she was going through difficult issues in her life, like dialysis and heartbreak.

The ‘Modern Family‘ and ‘Blind Date’ star went on to share pictures and videos from moments in her life that fans requested. One of these requests was to post a picture from a moment where she felt her “worst but had to fake being okay for a pic.”

In response to this, Sarah Hyland shared a photo of herself smiling and posing for the camera next to actress Vanessa Hudgens while they were attending an event.

The caption to the picture read, “Was on dialysis and had my heart broken just days before this picture. Thank god I had @vanessahudgens by my side at that event.” said the actress who was born with kidney dysplasia.

Hyland’s Health Struggles

In recent times Hyland has been vocal about her struggles with kidney dysplasia and admitted having undergone two kidney transplants. Hyland’s dad had donated a kidney to her in 2012. However, she again suffered a kidney failure, which led to her brother donating his kidney to save her life in 2017.

According to ET Online, the actress told Self Magazine, “I was very depressed. When a family member gives you a second chance at life, and it fails, it almost feels like it’s your fault. It’s not. But it does.”

She even admitted to feeling depressed and suicidal at that time.  “For a long time, I was contemplating suicide, because I didn’t want to fail my little brother like I failed my dad. I had gone through [my whole life] of always being a burden, of always having to be looked after, having to be cared for.”

According to ET Online, Sarah Hyland also suffers from endometriosis and abdominal hernia, due to which she had to go through 16 surgeries.

Hyland shares pictures from happier times

The actress followed up the health-related shots with happier ones, some of which included pictures from when she was in Paris, France and another one where she can be seen cozying up with her fiancé Wells Adams, which she posted as a reply to a request for a picture of “a light that gave you hope.”

According to ET Online, Adams met Hyland just days before she had to undergo her second transplant and that he has been supportive to her through it all.
