Sebastian Stan & Lily James ‘Never’ Saw Each Other Out Of Character On ‘Pam & Tommy’ Set

Sebastian Stan and Lily James took their roles in ‘Pam & Tommy’ very seriously!

On the set of Pam & Tommy, Lily James and Sebastian Stan rarely strayed from their roles.

Lily James and Sebastian Stan stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday to promote their upcoming Hulu miniseries, which explores the infamous ’90s s** tape scandal involving Baywatch star Pamela Anderson and Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee. James, 32, revealed that she and Stan “never really saw each other outside of character” while filming the series.

Stan, 39, admitted, “It’s true, I texted Lily early on, I said, ‘Listen, I’m scared sh–less, and I’m gonna need to hold your hand, and if you want to hold mine, we’re here, we’re in this together.'”

He continued, “And then I didn’t see her outside of Pamela until the end of the shoot.”

Lily James and Sebastian Stan also discussed how they were “terrified” to play such renowned figures and explained how they would get into character to host Jimmy Kimmel.

Stan said, “I think we were both just terrified to play these characters. They’re real-life people. I don’t have tattoos on my body. I think we both would just, on repeat, listen to their voices and their interviews. And — I know we both did this — we would actually scream into pillows in between the scenes because I was trying to get my voice raspy to sound like him, and you were doing that too. So I was like, ‘You’re screaming into a pillow as well?!'”

“I think everyone thought we were literally losing our minds in our trailers!” James added sarcastically.

Pam & Tommy, starring Seth Rogen, Nick Offerman, and Taylor Schilling, will take you behind the scenes of how Anderson and Lee’s s** tape from 1995 was leaked.

The men who come to hold the recording, which was recorded on the star couple’s honeymoon, will be played by Rogen and Offerman, leading to one of the earliest internet-breaking moments in history.

Fast-paced clips of Lee driving about in his classic muscle vehicle and Anderson decked up in her trademark red one-piece bathing suit on the seaside set of Baywatch had previously been released as teases for the show.

“They say I don’t have rights since I spent my public life in a bathing suit,” she says in another clip published on James’ Instagram Story this week.

Craig Gillespie, the director of 2017’s I, Tonya — which also stars Stan — directed three of Pam & Tommy’s eight episodes. On Wednesday, the first three episodes of the eight-part Hulu original drama premiered.
