Selena Gomez Launches Wondermind, A Mental Health Platform

She is aware of the difficulties.

Selena Gomez has collaborated with her mother Mandy Teefey and The Newsette founder and CEO Daniella Pierson to launch a new mental health awareness platform called Wondermind.

Selena Gomez, who has long been an advocate for mental health, is launching a new project to help people talk about their mental health issues.

According to the website, “We’ve each had our own mental health struggles, and we realized there was no inclusive, fun, and easy place where people could come together to explore, discuss, and navigate their feelings. So we created it.”

It also says, “No matter how down or confused you might feel, we’ve been there too. So we created a space to work it all out every day with candid conversations, physical tools, daily content, and a supportive community.”

The website notes that going to therapy is vital and beneficial, but compares Wondermind to going to the gym in between personal training sessions, with the exception of your mind.

“Mental fitness is a daily commitment,” it says. “The more you practice, the better you feel—just like working out. We’re giving you easy ways to do it via daily content.”

“I want there to be a place of people coming together and understanding that they’re not alone,” Gomez says in a promotional video for the project.

“Being vulnerable and seeking help is one of the most terrifying things in the world,” Gomez adds. “It requires much courage and bravery.”

All three women discussed their own mental health struggles, with Teefey claiming she was misdiagnosed before discovering she had ADHD and Pierson claiming she has lived her entire life with OCD.

Selena Gomez has always been candid about her mental health issues. In April 2020, the singer stated that she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

“I understand what it’s like to be confused and not really understand what are these feelings and emotions coming from,” Gomez admitted. “I live with bipolar—I don’t suffer from it anymore. I’m really happy and proud of the progress I have made.”

Aside from the platform and access to professionals and exercises, Wondermind will also include a podcast in which celebrities will be interviewed about their mental health journeys. For the time being, they’ve created a video that explains the vision, as well as a newsletter that anyone can sign up for by visiting the website right here.
