Last Tuesday, after the second live show, Sofia expressed that she misses seeing Cowell next to her week after week.
“It’s been great to have all those guest judges, but I do miss Simon. I wish he could’ve been here,” she said. “For me, it’s my first time and I feel comfortable when he is with us. Howie and Heidi are amazing, but he’s the boss!”.
Klum also said that Cowell has been “healing pretty fast.”

On August 8, Simon Cowell was hospitalized after breaking his back in a bike accident. He was riding an imported SWIND EB-01 electric motorbike when the accident took place. He had a metal rod inserted to his back during a 6-hour surgery. Cowell broke his back in three places — coming within an inch of cutting his spine and facing possible paralysis. The bike he was on at the time goes so fast, up to 60 mph. It has been banned from the open road in the UK.
Cowell thanked fans for their support and medical staff who took care of him on Instagram. As told by a friend of Cowell’s to PAGE SIX at the time He’s “just being silly, joking around,” the friend said. “He knows he had a lucky escape and is very grateful for that and the medical teams, who have been incredible.”
