Taylor Swift won big at the Brit Award 2021 as she took home the coveted trophy in the “BRITs Global Icon” category and we are prouder than ever.
It seems the world isn’t done giving happiness to the singer Taylor Swift, after winning at the Grammys 2021 in the category of “album of the year” for her hit album “folklore”. The 31-year-old has now another victory in her bag.
But first, let’s take a look at the outfit Taylor Swift wore at the Brit Awards 2021. Taylor took to her Instagram to share a post of her ensemble for the award show. She styled a glittery white crop top and matching skirt, which exposed her midriff.
The whole outfit, which is from the brand “Miu Miu“, was lined with jewels in shape of flower petals. Taylor captioned the post by using the lyrics of her song “Mirrorball”, as she wrote: “Spinning in my highest heels, luv, #BRITs”.
Taylor Swift was also nominated for the category of “International Female Solo Artist” at the Brit Awards 2021, which she lost to Billie Eilish.
Selena Gomez praised Taylor for her down-to-Earth personality, as she stated, “Taylor is the same girl I met when I was 15. And she cares so deeply for her fans. I wish I could be there and just support you and hang out with you. You deserve it and you’re amazing.”
Taylor Swift, upon winning in the “BRITs Global Icon” category at Brit Awards, gave a heartfelt speech. She first thanked the actor Maisie Williams for coming on stage to present the award.
“If anyone who knows me at all knows that Game of Thrones is my life. So, the fact that Maisie was here to present this, I want to grab you,” she started her winning speech. “I can’t, since we’re social distancing but thank you so much for coming here to do this.”
She then went on to appreciate Selena Gomez and her other celeb friends, who were featured in the tribute video. She also said a big thanks to all the NHS healthcare workers for their dutiful work.
“Last year I even almost played Glastonbury, but we all know what happened next, the world changed. And I ended up putting out three albums instead,” she said. “Making “folklore” and “evermore” was one of the most unique, cathartic, extraordinary experiences I’ve ever had.”
Last, but not the least, she thanked her family and friends by stating, “I want to thank my friends and family who know exactly who they are: whose opinion of me never changed whether my stock was up or down. If there’s one thing that I’ve learned, it’s that you have to look around every day and take note of the people who have always believed in you and never stop appreciating them for it. Never take them for granted.”
She also acknowledged all the new talents present at the Brit Awards 2021.
“Never take them for granted,” she added. “There are so many incredible new artists in this room tonight, and a lot of people watching who have goals and ambitions and dreams for themselves. I need you to hear me when I say that there is no career path that comes free of negativity. If you’re being met with resistance, that probably means that you’re doing something new
