Jack Kehler, the actor who was known for his role in various movies like The Big Lebowski, Star Trek, and others has passed away at the age of 75. His son, Eddie Kehler shared this news on Saturday.
Jack Kehler passed away after a long battle with leukemia
Complications from his long-standing battle with leukemia has been stated as the reason for his death. Jack Kehler passed away at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. The actor was born on May 22, 1946, in Philadelphia. He got his education from Sanford Meisner and Wynn Handman and was a long-term member of The Actor’s Studio.
A brief note on some of his film roles
The actor was best known for his role as the Dude’s landlord in The Big Lebowski, and has over 200 film and other credits to his name. Jack Kehler began acting in the 1980s and featured in films and movies till he passed away. He was also well-known for his recurring role in Harlan-Wyndam Matson on Amazon’s The Man in the High Castle and also acted in the role of Frank Szymanksi on both Murder One and its follow-up mini-series Murder One: Diary of a Serial Killer.
Some of his other recurring roles include appearances on ABC sitcom ‘I’m With Her’ and 1986 miniseries ‘Fresno’. A few of his last projects included The Magicians, Love, Victor, and the still-in-production film The Platinum Loop.
His debut role was in 1983’s Strange Invaders as a gas station attendant. From there he went on to act in a number of movies, some of which have been mentioned above. He has also acted in Point Break, Wyatt Earp, Waterworld, Lost Highway, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, Lethal Weapon 4, Dudley Do-Right, Men In Black II, Fever Pitch, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, Under the Tuscan Sun, and Pineapple Express.

He was also known for his contribution to television where he frequently guest-starred on shows like Hill Street Blues, Cagney & Lacey, St. Elsewhere, Newhart, L.A. Law, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Wings, Diagnosis Murder, ER, The Practice, JAG, Judging Amy, 7th Heaven, NYPD Blue, 24, Joan of Arcadia, Monk, Cold Case, The Mentalist, Bones, Franklin and Bash, Mad Men, and NCIS: Los Angeles.
Kehler is kept in memory by his wife Shawna Casey, son Eddie, daughter-in-law Mari-Anne, and grandson Liam. Hollywood has truly lost yet another jewel.
