The Office Star Ellie Kemper Has A Different Opinion About Erin-Andy Relationship!

Ellie Kemper’s revelation

The Office, which spanned over nine seasons, turned out to be a career booster for all of its artists, and Ellie Kemper is one of them. The actress, who became a part of the show in its fifth season, played the crucial role of Erin. While Jim and Pam’s (the characters from the series) relationship was the most-talked-about, Erin’s affair with Andy too had impressed the fans. However, the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt star has a different opinion about the pairing up of Erin and Andy.

Ellie Kemper’s revelation

It was during Brian Baumgartner’s podcast titled An Oral History Of The Office that the popular artist opened up about Erin-Andy relationship. According to her, these two characters were never a good match, especially since Andy was too childish. “He wasn’t ready to take care of Erin. Erin was ready to take care of Andy, but I felt that it was uneven in that respect.”, Ellie Kemper said during the interaction.

When Briam Baumgartner’s pitched a different idea

For the uninitiated, Brian Baumgartner was also a part of this much-loved show originally aired on NBC. During the chat, Brian, who played Kevin in the series, sprung a surprise when the actor opened up that he had pitched an idea to the writers. According to him, he had come with a suggestion to pair up Erin and Kevin.

Ellie Kemper is impressed with that idea

Brain pointed out the reasons why he feels that Kevin and Erin would have formed a good pair. “If Kevin could mature just a little, there was something about their energy that I thought was right. Their energies matched in a weird way”, the actor stated. Well, it seems like Ellie Kemper too shares a similar opinion. “That actually makes perfect sense to me , I love that pitch”, the actress said as a reaction to the comment made by Brian during the podcast.

Erin and Andy’s relationship in The Office

As mentioned above, Erin walked into the show during the fifth season. Her relationship with Andy (played by Ed Helms) was indeed a roller-coaster ride, with its own share of ups and downs. Yes, they weren’t the perfect match, but maybe those imperfections attracted the audiences up to an extent. Well, for all those who are planning to watch The Office soon to get a clear picture, it is currently streaming on Netflix. Meanwhile, it is being said that later the series might be moved to Peacock, NBC’s online platform, where it will be aired with extra footages.
