Fast and Furious star Vin Diesel is set to star in a live-action version of the Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots.
Vin Diesel, 53 years old, will not only be starring in the movie but also be one of the producers. Diesel expressed his excitement to Variety about working on the live-action of Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots-
“To take the classic Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em game, with Mattel as my partner, and align it with the kind of world-building, franchise-making success we have had with Universal, is truly exciting”
Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots is one of the most famous products of the American toy manufacturing company, Mattel. it was first released by the Marx toy company in 1964. The two-player action toy game features two dueling boxers, Red Rocker and Blue Bomber, controlled by players; the game is won when one knocks the head off the other.
The story for the proposed movie will follow a father (Vin Diesel) and son duo, who form an unconventional bond with an advanced war machine. The screenplay for the movie will be done by Ryan Engle, who wrote for movie’s such as Dwayne Johnson’s “Rampage” and Liam Neeson’s “The Commuter”
Robbie Brenner the executive producer of Mattel Films, expressed his support for the upcoming project starring Vin Diesel, saying –

The Internet, however, is not reacting well to Vin Diesel’s Rock ‘Em Sock Em’ Robot, calling it a Real Steel ripoff
People have been reacting negatively to the news of Vin Diesel teaming up with Mattel to create a live-action version of a Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots movie.
People on the internet have been quick to point out that the plot of the movie is strikingly similar to the 2011 sci-fi sports movie Real Steel, which stars Hugh Jackman. The similarity is pointed out in the plot, which talks about a father and a son duo, who form a unique bond with an advanced fighting machine that eventually helps in bringing the father and closer to each other; this is similar to the plot of Real Steel, as pointed out by people on Twitter-
