Wedding DJ Idris Elba Claims Meghan Markle Directed Him What To Play

‘Meghan had sent me a playlist,’ says Idris.

Idris Elba, a British actor, isn’t merely one of Hollywood’s biggest names, he’s also a well-known DJ who’s played at Ibiza superclubs and major festivals all over the world. However, when he was invited to offer musical entertainment at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding reception in Windsor, the Londoner stated that Meghan insisted on taking charge.

The former American actress, 40, advised Elba, 49, on which songs to include in his set.

According to Daily Mail, Elba says, ‘Meghan had sent me a playlist, so I knew what she wanted already.’

The Luther star, who has worked as a DJ for Madonna and even collaborated on a single with Sir Paul McCartney, describes those experiences as “high-pressure gigs.”

When asked which event was the ‘most stressful,’ he says, ‘The wedding, no doubt. This wasn’t like my cousin’s wedding.’ The evening’s festivities were held at Frogmore House, Queen Victoria’s mother’s former residence, which is now a Grade I listed building.

‘This wasn’t at the community hall — the reception,’ says Idris Elba, who rose to prominence in the acclaimed American crime drama The Wire. ‘This was a big, big deal.’

‘They’re good friends and I wanted to make sure they had a great time, so there was a lot of pressure,’ he says of the Sussexes.

Already, the late-night reception had sparked debate. While celebrities like George Clooney and James Corden were invited, some of Harry’s closest friends were left wondering why they weren’t invited.

Among those who did not receive invitations was Harry’s best friend for years, Tom Inskip, nicknamed ‘Skippy’ by his friends.

Skippy reportedly served as a protective figure for the Prince throughout his adolescence, and was even present during Harry’s infamous Las Vegas vacation in 2012.

Idris Elba’s revelation comes amid reports that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are planning additional “fake royal tours” next year.

Despite critics doubting what the pair’s new function has become since breaking away from the Royal Family, royal expert Neil Sean claims the couple will visit Australia and Japan in 2022.

“According to a very good source, Harry and Meghan are planning even more, shall we say, ‘fake royal tours’ in 2022,” the royal expert stated on his YouTube show. “Apparently they are looking to tour Australia, Japan and back to certain areas of the United States.”

Sean speculated that Harry and Meghan are “not that popular right now” and that “maybe they’re hoping to reignite their once popularity in far-flung places.”
