If you have been following the Instagram pages of Bollywood celebs, you already know how a majority of them have eloped abroad to celebrate the New Year- a tradition of sorts that everyone from Alia Bhatt to Anushka Sharma has followed. And while our celebrities prefer a foreign location to welcome 2020, Hollywood’s most renowned names are choosing India to spend the beginning of the new year. Yep, the blockbuster Fallen film series’ actor Gerard Butler and “Game Of Thrones” fame Emilia Clarke are in India and you didn’t even know it!.
The London Has Fallen actor recently shared pictures of his ongoing trip in India, along with his girlfriend Morgan Brown. The duo was spotted in Rishikesh and were seen bonding with the young businessman Yash Birla, the owner of Aditya Birla group of industries, and his family near the Ganges in Rishikesh.
Birla also took to Instagram to post a picture with Gerard Butler and captioned it: “Rishikesh is rising, London has not fallen.. 300 per cent..a day well spent and most memorable in the resonance of the holy Ganges @gerardbutler.”
Apparently, Gerard Bulter is taking part in every touristy-Indian activity on his trip and even shared a photograph of himself doing Suryanamaskar, with the Himalayas serving as a serene backdrop.
“Let your light shine in to the new decade. Sending you all love. Happy New Year from the Himalayas,” he wrote in the caption of the image.
Butler also visited the Gaden Shartse Monastery in Karnataka to attend the Dalai Lama’s keynote speech on ‘An overview of Tibetan Buddhism and growth of great master Tsongkhapa’.
It wasn’t just Gerard Butler who picked India as his New Year’s Eve destination
If rumours are to be believed, including a rather credible source like Viral Bhayani, the ‘Game of Thrones’ star Emilia Clarke had also landed in India to celebrate the new year along with her mother. And as no other picture of the actress’ stay in Jaipur has cropped up and neither has she posted any, it can be deduced that she doesn’t to be paparazzi-ed on her trip.
She was spotted at the Jaipur airport as she was leaving for Delhi, accompanied by her mother.
