As per rumors, Miley Cyrus may reprise her character of Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 in the upcoming sequel. The singer’s first cameo was made in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 wherein she played the character of Mainframe, a robot. It seems that Cyrus will again be joining the cast of the movie as director James Gunn is already missing her.
On Monday, a Twitter page of Miley Cyrus posted the movie clip from the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and wrote, “Who remembers Miley voicing ‘Mainframe’ in ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy 2’?”. To this director James Gunn replied, “Me. CC @MileyCyrus”. Cyrus also acknowledged the director’s enthusiastic response and tweeted back, “I miss u guys so much,” with a robot emoticon. Hence, after this friendly exchange, we can say that the director may think to bring Mainframe as he had a very evident role in the comics.
Where was Cyrus in the movie?
Miley Cyrus’s cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 came at the end of the movie when Star-Lord’s father got a traditional Ravagers funeral. The singer voiced the robot Mainframe in the funeral sequence and also in five post-credit scenes. Mainframe is shown as a warrior robotic alien which is quite different from the Marvel comics. Along with Cyrus, Sylvester Stallone as Stakar Ogord, Michelle Yeoh as Aleta Ogord, Michael Rosenbaum as Martinex, and Ving Rhames as Charlie-27 also appeared in the cameo.
James Gunn says Miley Cyrus’ character can go bigger in Guardians of the Galaxy franchise
James Gunn had also talked about Miley Cyrus’ cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy 2. He said to Buzzfeed News, “I was admiring the tone of Miley Cyrus’s voice. I find her funny and likable and sweet. I liked that she cared about the contestants. So I was like, I think she would be a funny person to have as a voice [in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2]. So we contacted her, and she said yes. She came in and recorded, and she was a delight to work with.”
Gunn even hinted at the possibility that her character may have a longer storyline than just a cameo in the franchise. He said, “She knows that there’s a chance that character may go on and become a bigger thing… That’s a possibility.”
“I’m excited by the possibility of doing more stuff with that particular set of characters,” Gunn said. “I think we’re all looking forward to what is the Marvel Universe going to be after Avengers: Infinity War, and that storyline comes to an end.”
Well, time will only tell whether we would be able to see Miley Cyrus fighting alongside Guardians of the Galaxy or not!
