Willow Smith Opens Up About Being Polyamorous; Releases New Pop-Punk Song

Willow Smith knows what she wants both in music and her love life!

Why did Willow Smith choose to be polyamorous?

Willow Smith is going places! The 20-year-old all-rounder musician and actress recently appeared on an episode of Red Table Talk on Wednesday, which she co-hosts with her mother, Jada Pinkett Smith, and grandmother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris, to talk about how she considers herself polyamorous and her views on relationships in general.

“I honestly couldn’t see myself going past two outside of myself,” said Willow.  “That’s one of the reasons why I was interested in poly because I was introduced to it through kind of a nons****l lens. In my friend group, I’m the only polyamorous person and I have the least s** out of all of my friends,” she continued.

Her views on matrimonial relationships

She also shared her views on marriage. “The history of marriage really irks me,” she said.

“Just the history of marriage as a whole and what it has represented over the years, for women in particular. I feel like the only way that I would get married is — let’s say me and my partner or partners wants to help people, and we need to put our finances together in order to make that vision happen,” she continued.

“That’s the only way I could see myself getting married,” she added.

Willow Smith came out as polyamorous on a previous episode of Red Table Talk. Catch it on Facebook Watch on Wednesdays at 9am PT/12pm ET.

Willow Smith has released a new song that surely brings out nostalgia!

The multi-talented young adult has teamed up with pop-punk pioneers Blink-182’s drummer Travis Barker in the new number ‘Transparent Soul’ which is the first song to be released from the singer-songwriter’s upcoming fifth album stated to drop this summer Roc Nation.

Willow Smith who has been making and releasing music since she was a pre-teen, releasing electronic and dance-y hip-hop, influenced bangers like ‘Whip My Hair’ and ‘21st century girl’. She has come a long way since then, experimenting with different instruments, mainly the guitar (as proven by the innumerable short Instagram video clips of the star playing her axe), and also delving into various musical styles.

Willow Smith must’ve found her voice in punk music as the singer has incorporated pop-punk elements in her latest track, made even richer by Travis Barker’s incredible drumming that he is known for.

It also has a cool music video

The new single also has a music video filled with perspective manipulated trippy visuals of the singer dancing and playing her guitar. Her get up for the video is noteworthy as the she looks badass in punk and edgy clothing, and make-up.

“I am so grateful for this tune because it was created in such an introspective time (during the first couple months of quarantine). It was the song that proved to me that I needed to let go of the insecurities I had about making a project of this genre,” said Smith, according to reports.

Her new track brings back the flavours of early 2000’s pop punk era and is definitely a good listen for anyone who wants to re-live their angsty, rebellious teenage phase!
