Zayn Malik & Gigi Hadid Want To ‘Move On’ From Yolanda’s Incident, Malik’s Family Wants Him Home

Zayn will be in the family’s lives forever.

Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik reportedly called it quits following last month’s blow-up between Zayn and Gigi Hadid’s mom, Yolanda Hadid. However, an insider tells ET that the whole family is trying to put the argument behind them.

“Yolanda is upset that her situation with Zayn came to light, as is Zayn. Gigi and Yolanda are fine and never had an issue over the incident,” says the source. “At the end of the day, Zayn will be in the family’s lives forever and everyone hopes one day they can all move on.”

Zayn Malik, who shares 1-year-old daughter Khai with Gigi, was accused of having “shoved” Yolanda Hadid “into a dresser” during their alleged argument, during which Yolanda said the singer screamed at her and called her names. Although Zayn “adamantly [denied] striking Yolanda,” his plea reads in court, which landed him on probation for 360 days.

Amidst the strife, Zayn Malik’s family is keen for him to return to the UK to be with them.

An insider revealed to The Sun that “Zayn is having a hard time right now and his family just want him to return home to Bradford. For Zayn’s mum, she is having to watch her son struggle thousands of miles away and it is really difficult for her. A mother’s instinct is to protect her child and that is all she wants for Zayn. They are hopeful he will be able to come home at some point so they can spend time with him.”

The incident between Zayn and Yolanda happened after they had a fight at home in Pennsylvania, which he shares with Gigi Hadid and their daughter Khai.

During the altercation, Gigi was modeling in Paris and Yolanda let herself into the couple’s home, seemingly without Malik’s consent.

While things between the two families continues to remain grim, the ex-One Direction star, 28, has been ditched by his US record label RCA — with those close to him saying he has been increasingly smoking “extremely strong” cannabis.

A senior music source told The Sun: “A lot of people have tried desperately to get Zayn’s life and career back on track, but nothing has worked. So many people who have worked with him have just given up. He’s almost impossible to control or guide. A while ago his label quietly decided it was the end of the line for their relationship, and now this.”

In a statement, Zayn said: “I had agreed not to contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner’s.

“Despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment that will allow for me to co-parent my daughter in a manner she deserves, this has been ‘leaked’ to the Press.

“I am hopeful, though, for healing for all involved with the harsh words shared and, more importantly, I remain vigilant to protect Khai and give her the privacy she deserves.”
