Zendaya Becomes The New Face Of Luxury Brand Valentino

“Zendaya is a powerful & fierce young woman.”

American actress Zendaya is on a roll these days. She recently scored big during the virtual awards season by picking up her first Emmy at this year’s ceremony for her performance as Rue in the hit series, ‘Euphoria’. This achievement led her to make history by becoming the youngest star to win Best Actress in a Drama Series.

Now the actress has landed a covetable role as the new face of Valentino.

The Italian fashion house announced the actress’s new victory with two images of her posing with the brand’s new Roman stud Nappa chain bag, wearing breezy dresses that made her look stunning.

Zendaya’s Achievements

Zendaya, the ‘Euphoria’ actress, is already well known as a fashion icon for killing it at the red carpet, Met Gala, and on the covers of countless magazines. Last year, she landed ambassador roles with Lancôme and Bulgari. The 24-year-old actress also collaborated with Tommy Hilfiger to design a collection.

That said, it’s a no-brainer that the luxury brand chose Zendaya to represent the brand.

Creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli considers her a “natural representative of his contemporary concept of romanticism.”

The designer explained in a statement, “The reason why we chose Zendaya as the new face for Valentino is because she perfectly embodies and represents what Valentino is and stands for, today. She is a powerful and fierce young woman that uses her talent and her work to express herself, her values, and her generation as well.”

Zendaya is not only making waves in the fashion world, but the star has been vocal to spark change whenever and wherever possible.

With the help of social media, Zendaya actively urged her followers to vote in the 2020 elections. And earlier in the year, she used her platform to educate people about systemic racism and police brutality.

“I am honored to have been chosen as the face of Valentino,” Zendaya said in a release. “I’m so excited to begin this amazing collaboration with Pierpaolo and the entire Valentino family.”

This weekend, the label debuted a video of the star’s first campaign shoot, where Zendaya posed with several bags from the label’s Garavani Roman Stud collection. “New connections between past, present and an imagined future,” the brand posted on Instagram. “Valentino is proud to announce that Creative Director [Pierpaolo Piccioli] has chosen [Zendaya] to represent a resignified Valentino, one where its core values evolve into a modern context.”
