JoJo Siwa made history by competing in ‘Dancing With the Stars‘ with a female partner for the first time ever. Upon her selection for the show, the audience was split between whether her presence would be an unfair advantage for the other contestants.
Because of her past dance experience, while many fans thought she had an advantage, pros such as Cheryl Burke claimed she actually had a disadvantage because Siwa had to un-train their brain and learn an entirely new style of dance.
Amid the debate, JoJo Siwa has performed well with her partner Jenna Johnson, but a shocking surprise was in store for fans when Siwa and her dance partner Jenna Johnson didn’t get audience votes despite being awarded handsomely by the judges this week.
The Nickelodeon star and Johnson found themselves in the Bottom 2 against Mike “The Miz” Mizanin and Witney Carson but survived the elimination. The pair has the highest average score amongst competitors the entire season.
For their Monday night performance, JoJo Siwa and Jenna Johnson are prepared with their best moves.
The duo is set to dance in the upcoming Queen-themed episode, where the remaining contestants will perform songs by Freddie Mercury and Co.
Amid their journey in Dancing With The Stars, JoJo Siwa has had a rough patch in her personal life as they split from their girlfriend Kylie Prew.
JoJo Siwa and their girlfriend called it quits after nearly 10 months, with reports suggesting Siwa’s friendship with her history-making same s** DWTS partner was partially to blame.
JoJo revealed she was dating “the most amazing, wonderful, perfect, most beautiful girlfriend” in February 2021, less than a month after coming out. “After being my best friend for over a year, January 8th 2021 I got to start calling this exceptional human my Girlfriend,” she wrote on social media. “Since then I’ve been the happiest I have ever been!”
“Kylie became jealous of the relationship JoJo has fostered with Jenna,” a source told OK! magazine, adding the two are spending a lot of time together rehearsing their dance routines. The source also claimed that Jojo’s “busy” schedule also led to their split, noting, “JoJo has always been a workhorse” and has trouble putting her personal relationships first over her career.
The pop star introduced Kylie to her followers and shared plenty of photos of the pair.
However, People reported on Oct. 15 that JoJo alluded to a breakup during a red carpet appearance. “I struggle when anything is new and I went through something that was new and I had never gone through before,” she explained. “And it was tough and it is still tough and I cried about it last night.”
She added, “I am missing a piece of me that is the biggest piece of me.”
Us Weekly, who reported the news on Wednesday, quoted a source saying: “Kylie stopped attending the show so she hasn’t been seen in the audience since they split. JoJo is focusing on the competition and giving her all,” the source continued. “While it’s a rough time for her, she’s handling ‘DWTS’ very professionally and still putting on a smile and giving 100 percent. She doesn’t want to let down her fans.”
