Fluffy’s Back! Gabriel Iglesias Is Returning To Film Netflix Special

Fans are elated!

Gabriel Iglesias, better known as Fluffy, will be back in the city of San Antonio to film a Netflix special which got delayed due to him getting a Covid-19 infection.

Gabriel Iglesias revealed in a Twitter reply to a fan asking the 45-year-old comedian whether his San Antonio Netflix special was canceled or not, to which he replied saying that his production is “working on a new date.”

“I said San Antonio is gonna get a special and San Antonio is gonna get a special. Working on a new date.”

Gabriel Iglesias had to cancel his upcoming shows back in July when he unluckily contracted the Covid-19 virus that has been taking the world by storm since early 2020. Gabriel had a very busy schedule during the months of June and July in San Antonio where he was slated for 26 sold-out performances at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts.

The taping of Gabriel’s Netflix special titled “The Comedy Event” was also supposed to take place at the same venue over the course of two shows on July 17, the last night of his 26-performance run. The Speedy Gonzales voice actor has been performing comedy for over two decades and fans are eagerly waiting for the new Netflix special to finish filming and release as soon as possible on the streaming service.

“The Comedy Event” will be Gabriel’s third stand-up special with Netflix, the other two being “Gabriel Iglesias: I’m Sorry For What I Said When I Was Hungry” in 2016 and “Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias: One Show Fits All” in 2019.

Gabriel Iglesias had to sadly announce that he contracted the coronavirus on July 15 (his birthday).

The comedian announced the cancellation of shows due to the virus through Twitter and Instagram. Fluffy said that he was tested by two different types of tests, which confirmed that he did contract the virus, further saying that he’s experienced some mild symptoms such as chills and fever. However, he also added that his health is OK and that fans do not have to worry as of now.

Gabriel Iglesias posted another Covid-19 update in July 23 in a follow-up to his July 15 announcement. Fluffy said that he was “doing well.” He also thanked his fans for all the support and joked about getting a haircut.
