Starting of the year calls for the adoption of new styles and trends in the world of fashion, and while we wishlist some of our favourites, celebrities are migrating to the dark side.
Off late many celebrities have stuck to a blond mane, but they are kissing the hair colour a goodbye for a fresh set of highlights, which is ‘bronde’ – a mix between blonde and brunette.
Right from Hailey Bieber to Cara Delevingne, the high-maintenance blonde hue is being given a miss this season for a soft shade of biscuit-brown with smoky, blended highlights, which are not only low maintenance but add an edgy dimension to one’s look. The versatile hue proves that you can have the best of both worlds.
Earlier this week, Hailey Bieber debuted a fresh new ‘bronde’ hair colour with the roots kept close to what is Bieber’s natural hair colour. The model’s new look came courtesy of hairstylist Amanda Lee and colourist Cassondra Kaeding, who have a big celebrity clientele. Bieber’s bronde hair signifies the model’s laid-back style that is effortless with a fashion-forward bent.
Hailey Bieber has been nurturing a less-is-more approach to beauty during the pandemic. Speaking to Harpers Baazar last year she opened about going natural with her hair.
“I’ve done a bunch of different things with my hair, it’s true, and I always loved being pink,” Hailey Bieber said. “During quarantine though, I just let my natural hair color grow out, which, I don’t think a lot of people know, is quite dark. I really want my hair to be healthy and I don’t want to put bleach on it anymore. I’m just going to let it do its thing for probably the next year or so, and see where we get to.”
Adopting the same trend like it’s nobody’s business is also model Cara Delevingne, who debuted the new hair colour on Sunday, February 21. “Blondes have more fun, but brunettes…” Delevingne captioned her Instagram reveal pic.
Supporting the model’s new choice were many celebrities who commented on her new look. While sister Poppy Delevingne commented, “Hubba bubba,” and Kate Bosworth wrote, “Cutie.” Fellow brunettes like actress Rachel Brosnahan added, “Yesssssssss,” and Anne Hathaway commented, “…get it done.”
Bronde is customizable, which means it’s flattering for every skin tone. Speaking about the trend, colorist Cassondra Kaeding said, “The great thing about bronde is that it caters to all skin tones. So make sure when you are looking for inspo, pay attention to people that have similar skin tones and hair color as yourself. Your colorist will help guide you in the right direction,” she explains.
