Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet don’t let their kids watch Jason’s old shows
While making an appearance on the Australian radio show ‘Fitzy and Wippa,’ on Saturday, actor Jason Momoa revealed that his kids are not allowed to watch some of his old movies and shows yet. The ‘Aquaman’ star, who shares daughter Lola, 14, and son Nakoa-Wolf, 12½, with wife Lisa Bonet, has been in the industry for decades now and is still one of the best actors in Hollywood. However, the actor’s kids will still have to wait to watch some amazing projects of their dad, which are famous among his fans.
“They’re gonna see a lot of things that Papa’s been doing,” Jason said. “The earlier things in my career, you can’t see that. But you can see the new things.” One of the shows that Jason Momoa has refrained his kids to watch is Baywatch: Hawaii, a show that Momoa did from 1999 to 2001 when he was just 20-years-old, a completely unrecognizable young guy with no beard or tattoos. “We don’t say the B-word at home. We hide all of that mate! Never happened, mate!” Momoa joked about Baywatch. “We don’t talk about those words, the B-word didn’t happen.”
Another great project that the ‘Sweet Girl’ star doesn’t want his kids to watch is ‘Game Of Thrones.’ “They’re not going to watch Game of Thrones either, even though it’s fantastic,” Jason said. “But you know, there’s stuff that you just… they can’t watch Conan [the Barbarian]. Jason Momoa further said that his kids are right now enjoying watching only the superhero movies starring their father and that the whole family is excited about the Aquaman 2 premiere.
Timothée is like brother to Jason
Well, Aquaman 2 is not the only highly anticipated project of Jason, the Hawaiian actor has been very busy this year.
In October, his movie, Dune is set to premiere which also stars Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya. The story revolves around Paul (Timothee), heir to the House Atreides, whereas Momoa will be seen playing the role of Duncan Idaho, the right-hand man to Paul’s father, Duke Leto, and a Swordmaster of the Ginaz. Ducan will be responsible to train Paul so that he can save his planet from the invaders. Its a role that demands a proper off-screen bonding between Timmy and Momoa, and according to the ‘GOT’ fame, they did exactly that.
When asked about how he bonded with Chalamet, the 42-year-old star said, “It was exactly like in the film – he’s like a little brother. He’s so intelligent. He’s something else to watch. He’s such a beautiful actor and considerate. He cares about his craft way more than I do. It’s just impressive to be around people like that.”
He then recalled a scene from the movie, which was inspired by him. “That joke [about muscles in the trailer] came from me. There are these outtakes where I went up to Timmy, and I go, ‘Look at you, d*** and ribs,’ he said. “Denis comes up and says, ‘What is this talk about the ribs and his d***? I don’t understand.’ I’m like, ‘Well, it’s funny because Timmy’s so skinny.’ He’s like, ‘OK. Maybe you can do it in another way?’ But Timothée [got me back]. When I hug him he kneed me in the balls so hard! You can see it if you watch it in slo-mo. “
