Johnny Depp Amber Heard Trial: Third Day Brings Shocking Revelations

“I did assault a couple of cabinets.”

Johnny Depp returned to the Virginia court for his and Amber Heard trial on the third day of his testimony and the day brought with it some shocking revelations.

While being cross-examined by Heard’s lawyers, evidence of text messages from Depp to his friends were presented before the judge, which referenced drug use by the actor while he was in a relationship with Amber Heard — including one about wanting to kill and defile his then-wife.

In a text message to a friend, the actor Paul Bettany, in July 2013, which was shown to jurors, “Drank all night before I picked Amber up to fly to L.A. this past Sunday. Ugly mate. No food for days. Powders. Half a bottle of whisky. An angry aggro injun in a f—ing blackout, screaming obscenities and insulting any f— who got near,” Wrote Depp.

“I, of course, pounded and displayed ugly colors to Amber on a recent journey. I am an insane person and not so fair headed after too much of the drink,” he continued in another text.

Heard’s lawyer J. Benjamin Rottenborn focused on another exchange that year between Depp and Bettany in which Depp wrote: “Let’s burn Amber!!!”

Bettany responded: “Having thought it through I don’t think we should burn Amber.”

Depp texted: “Let’s drown her before we burn her!!! I will (expletive) her burnt corpse afterwards to make sure she’s dead.”

Johnny Depp has previously apologized to the jury during the trial for the vulgar language in the texts and said that “in the heat of the pain I was feeling, I went to dark places.” He made the same apology on Thursday.

In addition, Rottenborn highlighted an email addressed to Elton John in which Depp called his ex-wife and mother of his children, Vanessa Paradis, a “French extortionist” who wanted to “brainwash” their children — Lily-Rose, 22, and Jack, 20 — against Heard.

Additional evidence presented against Depp included a photo of Depp passed out with a spilled container in hand after taking roxycodone, audio of Heard telling Depp not to cut his own finger and a video showing Depp kicking a piece of furniture and slamming cabinets in what appears to be a kitchen.

Heard took the video and can be heard asking Depp if he drank a whole bottle of wine that morning after he pours himself a large glass.

“I did assault a couple of cabinets, but I didn’t touch Ms. Heard,” Depp said of the video, adding that “there’s a possibility” he was drunk at the time.
